This is correct but doesn’t it still go as a simple possession charge on your record? Or how does that work regarding criminal record?

Broadmoor and especially Sherwood Forest say Hold My Beer. They are rampant with these homes full of degenerates. Most owned by one scumbag realtor.

They've setup a system where it's basically a monopoly controlled by the state government. They control both the supply and the amount distributed by limiting both the number of growers and dispensaries under the guise of a "highly limited program" compared to other states. Prices are insane due to the limitations, and the pharmacies allowed to sell already had ties to LA politicians. Now since the 2024 session, licenses for growing have gone to private businesses with ties to LA politicians. In true Louisiana political fashion, nothing happens in this state unless the right people get paid.

They basically concocted the same political scheme as riverboat licenses. Have a certain number limit who has access to start a business, pick politically connected friends or organizations to run the businesses and profit through political donations and eventually hop on the gravy train as an employee or consultant.

Unfortunately, America’s healthcare, FDA and insurance are all a big sham. Shameful.

yep. spot on. love this country but the healthcare industry is full of thieves.

dad retired with >$1m in the bank. worked in the plants for 40 years. got a rare form of cancer. the treatment was too expensive, insurance said it wasn't tested and they wouldn't cover it. he lived another 5 years as the healthcare industry stole all of his money. when he ran out of money, the treatments stopped and he died a few months later.

Lol. None of the "degenerates" you're worried about are buying from the dispensary. Way too expensive. The increased attention in the area will probably drive it away from the immediate area.

Eta: The incredibly corrupt system needs to go. Monopolies are great for the businesses involved of course but bad for the consumer. They can set their own price with no competition and have complete control of supply.

The current system would be more acceptable if they did a couple of things. First bust the duopoly that they just made into law and allow more growing licenses to be granted. Make regulations around the licenses that ensure only legitimate companies are granted licenses with rigid SOPs, secure access, testing/analysis standards, and enforce them. Second, force growers to divest from being owners or shareholders in the dispensaries and vice versa.

Better yet. Legalize growing completely and treat it like alcohol.

Medical Marijuana is a crock, as you and I both know.

It is simply a way for state governments to extort money from sick people that can actually benefit THC.

They get your license and address on file, they charge extra for a "card", and have little to no knowledge about actual dosage information, and certainly don't know about drug interactions.

God bless you, and prayers for your wife.

card” is a euphemism for the actual recommendation dumbed down for the clientele

I’m not SFP but euphemism sounds like a cute way of saying fraudulent.

Dumbed down for the clientele? Hmmm

The biggest issue with the dispensary is the product does not match the price. It’s factory industrial low to poor quality. Concentrates and gummies are the apple sauce of the industry. The lowest quality material not good enough for sales as “apples”. The program charges the highest prices for the lowest quality products. The flower tests positive for PGR’s and fake terpenes.

Do better.

So just curious, I assume it’s the same people that run the fancy one on Picardy.

Did they just decide to lower the demo for the ONeal location to make sure they could frick up that part of town as much as possible?

Don't kid yourself, those halfway and 3/4 way houses are all over BR. I know of several in the garden district.

Yes. I know they are everywhere. But more prevalent in these two neighborhoods than any others. Hell, you can throw a rock starting at Old Hammond Highway going towards Florida Boulevard and hit one after the other the entire way.

The people that keep the dispensaries alive are 25-50 year old white people.

Why is weed not “dispensed” at the pharmacy then.

I don’t go to an antibiotic dispensary when I have an infection?

technically, they are... the LA Board of Pharmacy is the entity that permits medical marijuana dispensaries... overall, there were only 10 permits to be allowed, 1 for each of the 9 allocated regions they divided the state in, and 1 supplemental permit to be issued based on population need...

my wife and I considered making a bid for the permit that was to be issued for the Baton Rouge region, but they literally gave you a month, to have a bid, along with business plan, collab with a physician with medical marijuana specifications, schematics of a facility, plans for security, etc.... to complete the exhaustive laundry list of items they were requiring, and to make a good bid, you would have had to have some good connections to know they were about to announce they were issuing permits... basically, it was corrupt from the beginning...

the guy who has the permit here owns Gem Drugs in Reserve, and always has been pretty connected and a little sketch/shrewd...

Serious question as I don't know.

No, no insurance touches medical marijuana because it’s still federally illegal.

Will be interesting to see how things change once it’s rescheduled in the coming months.
