I’m sure a question similar to this has been ask in this thread (not going through 68 pages
) and I don’t see a need to start a thread on this question but what is a good quality starter watch $1,000 and below y’all would recommend? I’ve been wanting a nice watch I can wear in uniform and out of uniform. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’d lean towards a Hamilton Murph in that price range.

IMO, either go way lower or way higher. $1000 to $1500 is the optimal not getting shite for your money price bracket in watches. There are exceptions and if you must have an auto that narrows it down a lot.
For my money, this series is peak function and curb appeal for the dollar.

The Hamilton recommended is a good choice. Also consider Seiko. The Seiko 5 series is a popular line of watches with lots of options.

I like the look of the Rolex Polar Explorer II. But I don't like the price tag.
I was thinking of getting the Seiko ssk059 which is kind of like the Rolex, but not quite.

I have the black dial version of this watch. If the white dial version had been released, I would have bought it. Looks very clean!

How do you like the one you have? Its hard to judge how it will look on my wrist when purchasing something online.

Here it is on my wrist. I have a small wrist, so the 39mm dial size is my sweet spot.

Looks good. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the watch. It seems its hard to find, so I didn't want to miss out on it.

The Seiko came in this morning. I really like how this watch looks.

I haven't actively been on TD in a while so I don't know the rules per say so I'll ask first so mods don't have to delete a post or whatever.
If I had a watch I wanted to sell, could I post it on here to see if any of you all might be interested?

I can't wait for this week's episode of family matters!

On a whim, I emailed Kenneth Cole's customer service, and surprisingly they responded almost immediately. A customer service rep asked for info on what I could remember about the watch and said that she'll check old catalogs to see if anything she has access to matches my description.
Kenneth Cole customer service finally got back with me:

I know this was a long shot, but unfortunately, we were unable to locate that watch. We appreciate your patience while we investigated it.
If there is anything else we can assist you with, or if you would like us to check for a similar model or alternative option, please let us know.
So I guess the watch wasn't a Kenneth Cole. I know I bought it at a Watch Station store in the Esplanade Mall in the late 2000s. I wish I could remember the name brand.
