Managed to land a Scurfa MS25 in the 10 minute window before they sold out.
Been on the wrist all week on a Sifu single pass nato.

Love that watch. When I ever decide to pull the trigger on another watch that is what I’ll buy.

I scored one of these Google Pixel watches for free. What use does this thing have?

The black bay lineup is classic. I need a date on my watch (a lesson I've learned too many times) which is the only reason I don't own the BB 58 blue. It's also why I'll keep the BB Pro around for a very long time even though I wish it was 1mm thinner.

Tomorrow is the Gold Game in Tiger Stadium, so I guess gold will be the theme of the weekend. A little neo-vintage mojo today 18238 DayDate. Cheers.

5 digit double quickset Day Date is the way. No better deal in watches right now, can get a gorgeous example in great condition for sub $20,000. 5 digit is much better balanced than 6 digit in my opinion. 6 digit is kind of an abomination, too shiny and bloated.

I agree with you that the 182XX is the best iteration of the DayDate, certainly for my tastes. It is hard to appreciate from that pic, but this one has a purply/coppery patina and is less bright yellow and almost rosy, without having the appearance of rose gold, if that makes sense.
That was about a three year quest to get the right one for me. This one is a "T" serial (1996) and the papers say it was originally purchased as NOS in KC, Mo. Unpolished with an immaculate dial and still a faint bit of luminosity from the tritium hands and dots. Came as a full set with the original outer and inner boxes, booklets, green rectangle tag (these are now white) and red chronometer tag (these are now green). Weighs in at 140 grams, which is exactly what one should weigh, so supports my thought that it is unpolished.

Know exactly what you mean regarding patina. YG with a little bit of oxidation is a wonderful thing - supports your belief that the case is unpolished and was not worn much. Tritium, in my opinion, also goes a long way to giving a watch a little more beauty and less sterility.
I’m still on the hunt for a Day Date. I love the 18239 with a yellowed dial - the WG is so inconspicuous and it flies under the radar. But the other part of me wants an onyx 18238 or something more absurd. Then, yet another part of me wants to go 4 digit - but then I come to my senses and remember I don’t need yet another watch that needs to be babied.

I dont think ill ever own a non-tritium analog watch again. Even at 10 years old mine is plenty bright enough to read.
I want a GSAR bad bad but man, they are expensive af now compared to days old.

Obtuse...came across someone selling these old rolexes. Any idea on the years? Approximate value? No boxes. Would both need to be serviced

That is a clasp code for an oyster bracelet that would span several different iterations of the Submariner. I think this has to be a 16800 because it is 1000ft/300m, but would be a transitional model (would likely put year around 1979) because it has painted lume plots without WG surrounds and though the photos are bad, I would make that as a matte dial. The crystal looks dirty, and my first thought was it is scuffed acrylic glass, but I think maybe it's just dirty and it is a sapphire cyrstal, judging from what I can see of the profile. I also think to have be 1000ft/300m on the sub date, it has to be sapphire, not completely sure on that. Someone that is specifically a Sub expert may correct me on that. And all of my guesses are assuming that this is not some frankenwatch with a hodgepodge of parts.
This Sub is beat to hell - links show significant corrosion, bezel edges rounded, lugs rounded. It would almost certainly need a service, and condition is going to be the major hit to price on this one. I would google the model number and look for examples with similar condition to get an idea of price.
The TT ladies DateJust is likely a 69173. It has drilled lugs, so that would be older than mid-90's based on that particular feature. I don't know for a fact, but I'm gonna say the bezel is not Rolex (aftermarket). But the diamond set MOP dial looks to me to be factory. Condition also pretty beat up on this one as well - lugs aren't sharp, metal is dull, scratched to hell, etc.
Are both/either at least running?

Thanks, I'm going to take it to a friend to check out the serial #s
Neither run. The women's watch is so small band wise it could fit around mingo's two inch cock.
I'm thinking of offering 5k total for both since they both need a lot of love

good deal, you probably know this, but when your friend takes off the bracelet(s) they can see the SN between the lugs at 6 o'clock and the model number between the lugs at 12 o'clock.
Keep us posted. I'm interested to see how this turns out.

Anyone have experience with the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph? I'm thinking of grabbing one as a reward for a decent milestone in my work career.

I need to buy a backup watch. Mines going to be gone for 2 more months and I feel naked.

thread is dying...I'll give it a go for today. Impulse buy last weekend while in for LSU v. So. Carolina game - not sure if it is good or bad having a multi-brand AD literally two minutes from my daughter's house. This is big for me, but fills a spot and I was smitten.
