This shits been happening since the dawn of time. It’s just there’s technology that rams a stick into the spoke these days.
Had female teachers and married women fricking Seniors when I was in jr high. Didn’t find out until well out of hs. There was speculation among adults at the time, but it stayed quiet. Easier to keep a secret without phones, internet, and pictures.

If he was 18, she would just be fired - not arrested. So the kid is definitely below whatever the legal age of consent is in Texas.

In most cases 17. But there may be exceptions for students and teachers.
