Inspection stickers are the biggest scam. Many other states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and others do not require them. Do those states have higher insurance rates and accident rates than LA and TX?

Fun kinda related story. In Chicago you have to have an emissions test every 1 or 2 years. They have a bunch of testing stations, but a few years ago they shut down the only testing stations in city itself.

So now, everyone is forced to drive to one of the suburban testing locations. Nothing says reducing emissions like forcing 3 million people to drive on the streets and expressways for 5-20 miles

It's my kid's car Hyundai Elantra.

Well if it was so freaking important why didn't the other two "inspection experts" mention it ?

I you tubed and googled this to death, his car model has one horn, one horn relay and one horn fuse.

I'm not saying yours is out.
it probably was bullshite.

just that some cars do in fact have 2 horns instead of only 1.
but if one goes out, you'll know it because it sounds very different.

would Louisiana ever do away with state inspections

In LA? Yeah right. Tried it as recently as a year or 2 ago. The local police/sheriffs threw a fit because it took money away from their budget. The inspection sticker requirement is a money racket.

Oklahoma had them for many years then finally it got voted out.

It’s complete garbage and Louisiana needs to get rid of them now. I thought I saw Mississippi did away with them?

3rd place - Greasy haired dumbass - "it's going to fail because the codes show the battery was disconnected within the past month " No mention of the HORN or the TINT. Says go drive it 100 miles and come back

That is legit. People disconnect battery to reset codes, were you trying to hide some codes

By the time you got to 4th inspection, the system had probably cycled enough to reset. Tint and horn sound like bullshite.

EPA mandates emission control checks/compliance.

EPA or local ordinances?

It's an EPA mandate, the state has to comply. Has nothing to do with safety emissions only.

Montgomery County still requires the sniff test

Do they check everything else? My wife needs a new windshield and wouldn't pass the old inspection test. But if it's only the sniff test, then she's good to go get one (expired last month). Need to get the new windshield anyway, but it's one of those things where I have to do it for her, and it has to be a time where she doesn't need a vehicle because she refuses to drive my truck. So, it's been like that for a little while.

My this month registration renewal

inspection not required

just show proof of insurance at time of application

7 dollar cost for inspection is included in registration fee[though no inspection]

counties are listed as attainment[ meets federal era emission std] or non attainment[fails federal emission std]. By fed law, non attainment areas require pipe test.

Why the change? Admission that inspections do not lower the rate of accidents
