I have silencers. Several.
I can not own those in CA or the ARs that I have them on. Most of the pistols as well because of the magazines.

I guess restrictions on muh weed an' gamblin' isn't enough to keep people from moving to Texas in droves. On to the next click bait.

It is all a matter of individual perspective.

Is Texas the least free state in the country? Hell no!

Is it the most free state in the country? Hell no!

They have a bunch of stupid religious-based laws regarding alcohol and other vices. That is typical of other southern states in my personal experience.

Oklahoma finally allows alcohol to be sold in grocery stores, even on Sunday. Growing up here, I never thought I would see the day, but it is here now. Also legal MJ for people with "medical" conditions.

Gambling is mostly a tribal thing, but the state gets a cut of the profit, plus we do allow the lottery. I wish they would approve sports books, but they haven't yet. Prostitution should be legal too, but no one has tried to get that passed yet. That would be way too much of a paradigm shift for the Baptists.

The "liberal" states focus on restricting other things.

Then you didn't look very closely at all.

It doesn't say what you want, therefore it's BS? You know Newsweek didn't make this up right? They simply reported on it. It's so laughable.

You mean to tell me the state with some of the harshest drug laws, abortion bans, anti-semitic speech bans, forcing bibles into public schools and some of the worst employee protections in the country lacks liberty and freedom? No way! I'm shocked.

In case anyone is confused, the countries with the worst individual freedoms are largely conservative countries. Does anyone even understand what conservatism means? You really think conservatives are the party of freedom? Florida bans books for God's sake. It's wild how few people actually understand this stuff. Texas is even looking at laws to limit highway usage by those seeking out of state abortions. You can't make this ish up.

People truly don't understand what freedoms are. It's mind-boggling. Southern states and red states typically have a lot more restrictions than liberal states. I am truly surprised by how shocked everyone here is.

Utah would be #1 for the most restricted state in my opinion, with Texas making a run at the top spot. Tennessee is pretty dumb, too.

So long as everybody agrees with my viewpoint, I’m OK with less freedom

It’s not an ideal state to live in if you’re a libertarian and truly value all freedom.

True, but freedom carried to that extreme is not sustainable, as we are seeing in the multiple pathos consuming America.

There is no greater lack of freedom in the United States than elections which aren’t secure or auditable. This is (at a state level) nearly exclusively unique to blue states. You were probably also the type of person snitching on neighbors during covid, demanding that they be “in this together” with you, and wanted them vaxxed and boosted in order to have a job.

individual examples aside, the left will always work to increase the size, scope, and dependence on government (and taxation), which will always work against individual freedom.

I'm not in a position to rank order each state 1 - 50 in terms of freedoms. All I know is that conservative states have their own unique restrictions compared to liberal states. I'm a little-L libertarian, so I generally trust the Cato Institute. If the context is "personal" freedom, then I understand why Texass scored low.

We cant gamble and limitations on alcohol. Texas Republicans only allow us to be free if they agree with it in their holier than thou bs.

Examples?
Look at the number of blue-haired weirdos and trannies running around. We used to be more constrained by boundaries. We had to work 50 or 60 hours per week just to survive. No one had time for all that shite. The constraints kept us in line.

My dad used to say that no one ever gained weight in a lifeboat. Well, no one ever changed genders in one either. The option didn't exist. But as people had more time on their hand, and societal pressure went away, weirdos proliferated. I don't think it's sustainable.
