Texas cop hit by drunk driver...walks away somehow VIDEO

Another car suddenly slams into his parked patrol car before hitting the stopped vehicle – and officer Lesell. He was thrown into a lane of traffic, but was able to get up and walk. Lesell called for backup and checked on the traffic violator before detaining the intoxicated driver. That suspect was arrested and charged with intoxicated assault. Lesell is recovering from a hyper-extended foot and a broken vertebra.

I kind of thought he just got out of the roadway in case anyone else crashed and probably rolling on ground in pain. Initial shock allowed him to get up and walk out of the road way but then the reality sets in and pain begins to take over.

Everytime I drive on the Basin Bridge and see a cop pulling someone over, I think I about this happening. Why do they pull someone over on the bridge? Why not wait until they left the bridge and then pull them over?

This thread is cracking me up although the wreck and injury are not funny.
I'm wondering more of what the heck that car was doing that hit him. Did they see him and just freak out.. were they just passing the police car and getting into the right lane.. surely his police lights are on. Idk maybe this thread already covered it. I'll continue reading now.

Okay upon another watch it sounds like the white car first hit the police car then things got out of control and hit the black car
