Why did he bring the "device" to school anyway?
He and his parents didn't think it would seem a little weird for him to pull a crude, wire-laden box with digital clock display out of his booksack?
Was this the school from Big Hero 6?

He does look like a brown kid. I seriously doubt the officer knew if he was Indian or Pakistani or Egyptian.

Sounds like a bright, creative kid with a passion for robotics and he wanted to show his engineering teacher something he built.
Pretty awesome. Don't see that much in American schools these days.

Nail on head...I doubt anybody was thinking 9/11, they were thinking Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook.

I'm actually ok with profiling.
However, they had no need to throw this child in handcuffs in jail. Was sitting in the principal's office to wait for his parents not enough?
