Hey. Bartenders are qualified for Congress. Why not expect them to play psychiatrist as well!

Makes no sense. He could go buy a shopping cart full of shite at a liquor store, get hammered drunk, and do the same thing. But since he went to a bar instead of a store, a bartender gets charged with some bs.

What’s next, arresting the salesman that sold the alcohol to the bar? Then, the bottler who packaged it?

How can they prove he didn’t drink more or take anything after he left the bar? How can they prove the drinks he bought were all for him? I imagine that will be the defense. Still sucks this person was arrested.

Anyway, can we get more pics of the hot bartender?

Any lawyer could get her off. No pun intended. Who's to say what he did or that he didn't drink more when he left? What if he had a bottle in his vehicle, finished it, then chucked it out the window....how did this get so far that she's in jail outfit? Or is that just an orange shirt?

Did y’all even read the story? The dude was talking about doing some “dirty work” with a knife, which the bartender knew about, he brandished a fricking handgun and they STILL kept serving him after the fact. If it was some random who didn’t say a word at the bar I would agree, but the dude obviously made enough of a commotion that the workers felt the need to go check up on the family after he left. So why did they keep serving him if they knew he was unstable?

DFW will hang your arse out for this. And lawsuits against the business follow bartenders being charged.

Because we as a society don't preach personal responsibility any more. These fricks choose to go get shitty at a bar and do heinous things afterward.

The intentional acts of the murderer should have been an intervening/superceding cause. and from a proximate cause standpoint, i wouldn't say MURDER was a foreseeable result of overserving.

Vehicular homicide, perhaps. But intentionally shooting someone with specific intent to kill? That's absurd even from a civil tort liability standpoint, and it has to be unconstitutional to hold someone criminally responsible for that.

WTF does that have to do with anything? How can a person be responsible for someone else's actions?

There’s a law on the books about over serving people. That’s what it has to do with it.

Don’t get pissed at me. Texas is just protecting and serving

Sounds like they served him a little alcohol, he didn't get to four times the legal limit at that bar. Also, I'm probably 4 times the legal limit right now and I can type just fine. I'm not leaving my house though. Someone who drinks regularly versus rarely will yield two different results. Sounds like they did what every bartender had always done since the beginning of time. All the blame falls on the man. His wife may have even been a complete POS out of no where one day....blame still falls on him.

Have you ever brandished a gun or knife in a bar and kept in getting service? There a little difference between your story and this one

Just because a law exists doesn’t make it a just one.
