Dude, if they go after them for this then this would bankrupt the entire US economy.

PFAS is literally everywhere and in an ungodly amount of products.

Even the EPA and FDA stance on PFAS is, to say the least, controversial and disjointed.

Anything clothing material with polyester is going to have PFAS.

All of them.

That’s concerning… your skin is your largest organ- and absolutely absorbs things. Activewear is tight and in constant contact with skin… I certainly wouldn’t want to be sweating in toxic chemicals.

It’s in your deodorant, food containers, and even your drinking water. If you’re drinking from a water line that has teflon tape anywhere on it, you’ve got PFAS.

You mean more than the 100 mill Republicans have already put behind Cornyn as a loser?

the EPA trying to figure out a sampling protocol without cross contamination is hilarious

they are in everything, from the PVC pipe, to the sampling container, to the gloves, to on the skin of the sampler, to the lab equipment, etc

The action level is 4 parts per TRILLION in GW. You could never decon your equipment enough to avoid cross contamination. Not to mention that there’s absolutely no way to remediate it other than activated carbon adsorption. Even then, you’re just immobilizing it, likely temporarily.

We began the process when the EPA starting their PFAS talk, mostly just background sampling for a baseline, but since they have slowly backed away some, we haven't really moved forward with anything

Fair enough. I guess that warrants vigilance and lowering your exposure every which route you can.

ETA- managing exposure is greatly helped by awareness of risk. In that regard, investigations aren’t a bad thing.

Avoid if possible. It’s painfully slow and tedious.

Wesley Hunt should have been the choice for Republican voters who are sick of Cornyn's shite.

I still think Paxton beats Talarico, but that race is going to be closer and more money from the GOP side being spent than necessary.

Hunt is just another neocon.

My first thought is that the folks at TCEQ are probably not thrilled with the PFAS Pandora's Box being opened by their AG.

The only thing EPA has done was give drinking water limits. And those aren't enforceable until 2029 at least. Meanwhile, there aren't any analytical methods approved by EPA to date, so any data you do collect is "for information purposes only".

The way this program was rolled out by the Feds is insane.

“Hey, there’s a carcinogen that’s everywhere. We don’t really have standards for it, we don’t have codified analytical methods, we don’t really know if we’re going to classify it as haz/non-haz, we don’t know how to clean it up, and we’re not stopping its use or manufacturing, but it’s the worst thing man has ever created and it’s gonna kill us all.”

Go to your closet and toss out everything with polyester.

Any outerwear with soft or hard shell.

Then toss out any food or drink item stored or wrapped in plastic.

Toss your toothbrush.

Toss any non stick pan.

If your plates or bowls have any type of coating, toss them.

Its likely in your make up and lotions.

That's just a start.
