An attorney in Harris County, Texas, has applied for a pardon in the 2004 drug arrest of George Floyd in Houston after the arresting officer has been accused of using false evidence.
Floyd was arrested by former Houston police officer Gerald Goines in February 2004 for selling $10 worth of drugs.
But Harris County Public Defender Allison Mathis, who filed the posthumous pardon application to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, said Goines made up the confidential informant in Floyd's case.
“No one bothered to question the word of a veteran cop against that of a previously convicted Black man," she said.

So because he was enough of a piece of shite that he just happened to run into a piece of shite cop years later he deserves to be deified and exonerated of all his past sins? No

same HPD goon who filed false reports that led to infamous Houston No Knock Raid in 2019 that resulted in the death of 2 folks completely uninvolved in the drug den they were investigating.

I hope we can all agree that arresting and temporarily incarcerating any individual over $10 worth of drugs is fricking insanity.

He's not being exonerated of all his past sins. The attorney is seeking a pardon as it relates to a single conviction.

It should be noted that said vet cop is black and murdered two white citizens. He is everything wrong with policing

Is this like the participation trophy they give kids these days? At this point, I don't care what his crimes are and why are we wasting legal time and money on something that has no purpose?

For as great of a state as Texas is, we have some real dipshits congregated in certain areas.

Clean up George’s past and make it appear he was always targeted by White America, and that he really wanted to change America for the better. Haven’t you heard he is doing that in death.

So Floyd still sold him drugs, he just lied about how?
2 wrongs doesn't make Floyd less guilty
