Yes, because 18yr old kids are always great patients in a situation like this, lol.

Getting a finger up the arse, not knowing the reason, and later not knowing the severity of the issue, no 18yr old is going to be a good patient.

Keep telling yourself that.

No one explained WTF was going on until after the finger, and that was simply you have a torsion and sometimes that relieves it. It was the nurse who explained the severity, and after that I was more than cooperative. I hadn’t even seen a relative until I was in the gurney being wheeled into the OR.
If you have a torsion, go to the hospital immediately.

Looks like you went to wrong hospital.

Mercy hospital in mid city, New Orleans. Since the storm, it has been shuttered. It was the nearest ER to my house and the house of my girlfriend at the time.
Tbh, it was also the only hospital I had ever been to at the time.

I had this when I was in my early 20's.
Felt like an elephant stepped on my nuts.
And stayed there.

Had that once in my early 20s. Felt like someone was kicking me in the sack everytime I took a step, sat down, stood up, etc. Horrible experience.

Jesus man. I'm only 32 so my balls aren't quite dangling down near my knees yet, but I can't even get CLOSE to "rotating" either one 180 degrees, let alone 360. Nor do I want to.
Is this fcking normal?!

I’m 70 and hanging low these days. Still quite active in the sack (no pun intended).
Woke up one morning a couple of months ago with mild throbbing pain that went away fairly quickly. But I noticed my left nut was noticeably swollen. Called urologist and had a telemed conference with him. He figured it was epididimitis. Gave me powerful anti inflammatory and antibiotics.
This past week, still no pain but still quite swollen, I got an in person visit this time and he felt me up good. No torsion, no “...celes” and highly unlikely cancer at my age. Said it’s still epididimitis and that takes a long time to resolve at my age. Highly recommended hot bath soaks every night for 30 minutes.
So each night I fill up the tub, put on The Doors and chill with legs spread out. The other night my wife walked in and sees me splayed out. She offers: “You want me to light a couple of candles?” That got it started.
Sometimes it’s not too bad to grow old. You learn to adapt.
NOTE: Doc said my injury was probably due to when my 60-pound dog jumped up on me to take her nightly lap nap. Dog regularly targets my balls.

Had torsion in my early 40's. My GP misdiagnosed it and I didn't see a urologist until the next day. It was too late. Recovery from surgery is not fun.

Haha, you sure can when it's already twisted up. When I went in they wanted to avoid surgery if possible since I was still developing. One person holds you down, doc starts cranking on your ball and flicks it until you notice the pain start to subside.
I think you could have probably heard me from outside the building

Even if they save it, it’s still weeks of ice packs on your balls. And that drain tube, oh god!
