re: Tesla Truck, under $50,000 and better than a F150

8 year warranty on the battery pack, unlimited mileage.
Battery packs can run around $30K to replace ( it is hard to get a firm number, esp from biased sources) so I am curious how that's going to affect resale.
Truck nuts = lifetime warranty, unless divorce, then you only keep one nut.

Damn 30k? I heard they were expensive but I figured it would be like 5-10k expensive. frick that. You could buy another vehicle for that and throw the current one away

It depends on the battery capacity/KWH.
A lot Tesla owners are like ,"oh, you'll never need battery, plus they're covered for eight years, and studies show you only drive 40 miles a day, etc..."
And don't even bring up extreme cold/hot weather degradation; they'll ban you w/ the quickness.
Actual post:
"The battery pack will outlast the car, maybe 6-8% loss over 300000 miles. You will need to keep the car 20 years or more."

My wife drives about 5k per year and I'm in the 8-10k range including road trips. We just don't drive enough to really care about the cost of gas. That alone kind of diminishes the appeal of an electric vehicle to me. I've got nothing against them though.

We're about the same.
I'm pretty pumped about the advancements and we honestly considered the Jag E-Pace for her most recent vehicle. Most of her trips are in the 25mi. round trip range, but a few times a year she goes to the beach with her GFs.
HighCotton pointed out that there are a lot more charging stations than I thought.

Count me in. Would love to have one of these. I am not totally opposed to the concept art, but let's make it a little more "adult" in design.
As a non enthusiast, the main problem with Tesla has always been price. If they can price their truck at the same point as Ford, Chevy, Dodge, then they'll have a winner. Only downside is every owner will need an electrician to install a 30A (or is it 50A?) outlet in his garage. Shouldn't be a big deal if you own, but could be if you're a renter or live in a condo or something.

The C8 Corvette Will Officially Debut on July 18, 2019
It's the first official acknowledgement that the mid-engine Corvette is real, and the date on the side corresponds with Chevy's teaser webpage for the upcoming 'Vette.

Teslas are amazing. Just bought one and will never buy another car again. They're that good

Model 3. I drive a ton between offices and will be writing off most of the car. Saving over $200+ per month in gas.
Honestly wasn't expecting the car to be as awesome as it is. Range isn't the best but there are superchargers in every major city plus L2 chargers everywhere. 30A at my house will charge 20 mrph which is all I need.
Features are great. Autopilot is amazing. Don't have to lift a finger while driving.
Eta: wasn't a tesla fanboy before buying. Definitely am now.

Infrastructure is gonna get better and better now that all the OEM's have embraced it. I hope they all get together on a standard charging port or whatever.
Hard not to be a fan of instant torque.

Based on what exactly? Because they are fall behind on long roadtrips that 99% of the population doesn't do but a couple of days a year? If even that?

Anyone rooting against Elon Musk/Tesla is the embodiment of what’s wrong with America.
You think China and Japan have a bunch of tards rooting against their very best entrepreneurs who dare to dream a little bigger?
Jesus Christ y’all are stupid.

But mah truck nuts!
I've seriously never seen so much vitrol about car choice. Its not even a distaste over car choice.
People flat out have a personal problem with the owner for essentially existing.
