Agreed. If we get to a point where EVs are better than gas powered vehicles in every way then you won't have to pay people to buy them as long as they are comparably priced.
Tesla's sold just a couple cars since the rebate expired.

And that's fine.
I don't have anything against EVs but they aren't better than a gas vehicle for me personally at this time.

Which is why we need to invest into finding energy sources that don’t require us to rely something that is one harmful to the environment and two a source that isn’t finite.
Because lithium batteries (mining, disposal) have zero environmental impact. Are you really that retarded?

That’s fine and all, but I am still against the government picking winners and losers. If it is indeed a better technology, then it will win out on its own.
Yup, let it take over organically. I believe it eventually will. It'll be a disaster if forced.

Truth is regular cars produce CO2 that adds to global warming meanwhile electric car batteries have to use lithium
Electric cars produce CO2 at a power plant instead of the tailpipe UNLESS the power is from nuclear, solar, wind, or hydro.
So, for most of the country the electric car is a contributer to CO2.
Electricity is not produced by the plug in the wall.

Alaska has the highest usage of renewables because many live off the grid and use solar for lights. Alaskan living is pretty spartan compared to the rest of the country

If instead you're driving your EV up in Alaska, which has the highest percentage of renewable energy usage in the continental US, the Model 3 produces a measly 130 grams of CO2 per mile.

What kind of renewables are those, I wonder?
Not sure if you're hinting at something or just asking a question, but "renewable energy" is wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, solar, and marine hydrokinetic.
besides the point - people who drive an EV & think they're saving the environment are the dumbest.

I think he meant which type of renewable. Which would be almost exclusively Hydro. They can't count any off-grid solar or anything like that because its not grid interconnected.
Add in anyone who uses the term "green".

How about that mountain they have to destroy to get the lithium?

So what. I just pull a tomato garden with me everywhere. Only by product is juicy tomatoes.

The contrast between this thread and the Elon WFH thread is hilarious

And Louisiana will spend 75 million tax payer dollars to put in charging stations across the state.

Technically, renewables still have front loaded CO2 emissions during construction and from maintenance that should be factored into their power generation. I believe nuclear is the most green of the 4 you listed.
There’s no free lunch when it comes to energy production.

I wonder if the reason for the gas prices going up and the government not doing anything to improve the situation is on purpose to persuade people to make decisions they want them to make? Nah, that’s just crazy talk.

Are they factoring what happens with the batteries when you have to change them out in 10 years?

Yeah, the US is manipulating the global oil supply to help Elon Musk make more money.

People who say shite like that don't understand degradation and get all their talking points from Facebook and reddit.
