"Central USA" is a pretty broad descriptor; this could realistically mean anywhere as far west as Colorado or Utah or as far east as Kentucky or Tennessee.

Build it in Shreveport. Easy rail, river, and road access. Cheap labor pool

Didn't GM have a factory at one time in that area?

You aren't getting Tesla employees to live in Shreveport

Am I believe this is to be the new truck of the methed-out middle America handyman? How does it looks with a single board hanging out the back (sans flag of course) with a bunch of garbage rattling around the bed?

There are 100's of displaced factory workers in the rust belt that would move to Shreve for a job. We aren't talking engineering, we are talking production.

Fact is, N. LA along I-20 would be a great spot for a car factory.

Alabama has two, Mercedes and Honda, along I-20. Mississippi has Nissan along I-55, not far off I-20.

Alabama has given away a shite ton of credits to Mercedes, Toyota/Mazda, Honda, and Hyundai. Anything from property,to training centers, to Lord knows what else, but I do know that each of thousands of employees, both at the main assembly facility to the tenfold number of employees at the neighboring supplier plants pay an even larger shite ton of income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, etc.

Much better return on investment than building a new stadium to keep a handful of high paid athletes around.

They could put in Mobile. We have access to Ship, Air and Rail. We also have plenty of land to accommodate. We have new Wal-Mart and Amazon distribution hubs along with big manufacturing with the likes of Airbus and Austal.

They could locate it near the new Volkswagen Battery plant in Chattanooga and power it from Sequoyah and Chickamagua.

I'm sure they could but what are the chances that the city allows him to hire who he needs to hire in order to be successful?

They will have every alcoholic and drug addict brother in law and preachers kids imaginable on the payroll

I could see them going where Google went to, down there in Bridgeport or South Pitt. Cheaper land down there.
