The point is to make sure we don't overrun the hospitals. Right now we're doing a good job at it, this just seems really premature.

GA is not particularly close to overrunning its hospitals. Very few places actually are.
What is overrun is the unemployment office.

Everyone said “flatten the curve” before reopening. Well, we see many areas have done that. Now the left has decided to move the goalposts. “Got to have more testing”, “Need vaccine”, etc.
If you think now seems premature, at what point do you feel comfortable? There needs to be definable goals based on data - not some vague “seems premature”.

We have to go outside at some point. When we do, the virus will still be out there ready to re-infect the population. The idea of "flattening the curve" was keeping the hospital at a reasonable level of chaos until treatments or a vaccine could be developed to stop this virus in its tracks. No reliable treatment has been developed yet and a vaccine won't be here until 2021 - if it gets here at all.
So that leaves two options: we either sit in our homes for another year or we go outside and face the music.
