My grandfather brought my gma back to the States from Cardiff Wales after WWII. During one of their dates he had the cook on the ship make them some ham sandwiches. Apparently they slathered a bunch of butter on the sandwiches. They scraped the butter off the bread because butter was rationed in England. She brought the butter back home to cook with.

My uncle hooked up his family trailer to bring it to a friend a few hours away... when it rained the half dozen chickens he owned used to sit on the axle of the trailer to stay dry under the bed of the trailer

During the trip apparently he was shedding chickens down I-10 at 70mph

All 6 chickens started the trip on the axle... a few hours of interstate driving later, only one was left

My mom and dad worked at the same fried chicken chain in college and my dad had an exam to study for and asked my mom to cover his shift. The shop was robbed that night and the robber shot my mom in the chest.

My great grandfather rode with poncho villa. They killed my grandmothers family, burned down the ranch, and took my grandmother. My grandfather and grandmother ran away and got married a few years later.

yep really. I was told that he ordered a bucket of wings, and she filled the bucket while another cashier rang him up. guy pulled a gun and demanded cash, the cashier grabbed the money and put it in a bag, but then threw the bag at the robber and jumped behind the wall closest to him. this angered the guy and my mom was just standing there with the bucket at the counter and he shot her.

I was told that part of my grandfather's family, on my dad's side, was involved in the whole Mississippi Burning movie. I never believed it. I worked in Merdian, Ms for a bit and people would ask me all the time if I was from Philadelphia, because of my last name, I guess. I said no. I'm from La. Come to find out, when I asked my dad, yeah. His dad was from there. I saw my grandfather once in his casket when I was a kid. Never knew that side of the family. But my last name isn't listed so I always wrote it off.

My great great uncle shot and killed President McKinley. My great great grandparents immigrated from Poland and uncle Leon got involved with a group that believed in socialism and that Americans hated all immigrants. He rode the lightning 7 weeks after shooting McKinley, and now nobody could even tell you who killed McKinley. How it should be

Back in the early '30s, my grandma and grandpa lived in Morgan City. The movie theater had some kind of raffle/ contest for ticket buyers and if no one won it, the prize money kept growin. One night my grandma went to the movies with her sister and she won the prize. It was a little over $800, and she used the money to buy a house. A house for $800!!

No one knows much about him (or her really). I don't know the nature of my great-grandparents' relationship, but my great-grandfather wasn't an Indian, so it's possible both their families didn't know about my grandpa and his siblings. The children were all sent to live at a BIA boarding school until they turned 18. My grandpa was 18 mos. old when this happened and was the only toddler at the school. It took a long time to get all the kids identified.

Thankfully my grandpa and his siblings were kept together at the school. Did your grandma lose touch with all of her siblings? Or was she placed with some?

My great great grandfather fought with the Mississippi regiment during the civil war. When the war ended he was in New Jersey and walked all the way home to Mississippi ... he was also somehow related to Robert E Lee

Family member took 100s of thousands of dollars from Baptists under the illusion of being a missionary. Baptist got scared it would hurt their income if people found out about it, so they did not press charges (dang sure did not mind going for civil damages). Those Baptists sure are some up and up. He later sold fake insurance policies to hurricane victims in Alabama at (steals of a deal) decent prices, but kept the premiums.

Other than those it is just the boring DEA drugbusts and “potential” covert ops that never really happen.

To think, I was the outcast before him!

My grandparents immigrated from Greece into New York. They moved to a small town in central US. He opened up a candy/soda fountain/ice cream shop. One day Will Rodgers rode his horse into the shop and grandfather had to kick him out.
