I actually remember several times in my first semester at LSU, vividly thinking- ‘It doesnt get any better than this, make sure you savor it’…. I was dead broke, living in a crappy dorm, worried about passing classes- but couldnt have been happier…
I wish I realized back then how good I had it being poor and living in crappy dorms/apartments. Whenever I go back and walk around campus I’m overwhelmed by waves of nostalgia.

I remember Victoria’s Secret-like lingerie shows outside of the all-male Power Hall whenever someone would pull the fire alarm in the middle of the night and everyone’s girlfriends (or hookups for the night) would file outside onto the front lawn
There was this crazy old black janitor who’d clean our building in Power. He’d push one of those big dust mops along the floor, walls, and ceilings while babbling. Occasionally he’d warn us about females.

Didn't learn a thing in statistics.
Had Geert Hammink in my statistics class. Said he learned it in high school in the Netherlands. Never went to class but he still got an A.
“I’m goin back to CEBA, CEBA, CEBA … I don’t think so” was a hit song by LL Cool J.

Some of these are great… I wish I could have been around for some of it.
Not “old” but we had Salsarita’s on campus and Serrano’s just off. LSU Mexican took a nose dive.
The pistol was still a cool innovative formation. I miss the wonder.
My first college girlfriend introduced me to Chelsea’s grilled cheese and tomato soup after we spent our first night together… I could have died then and been satisfied; it’s all been downhill from there.

If this has already been mentioned sorry for the repeat.
Tailgating was first come first serve but everyone knew who went where. Parking on the grass, folding lawn chairs spread out to mark your area. No one took more space than they needed.

All football games were at night and there was no such thing as tailgating and smoking inside the venue was allowed and fans dressed to the nines

I used LSU’s Telnet service at the library. And Reggie to schedule classes.
And then got McDonald’s when it was just a window at the Student Union.
