I'm 80% of the way there.

There are none. Youth is wasted on the young.

You have more and more family and friends start dying off and it makes you appreciate that you still have the health you have and count your blessings more. Grandchildren are a huge plus.

Outweighs the perks of not getting to grow old.

You are only as old as you feel.

$$$$

But after 40 I've noticed that I just don't care as much about spending it on cool stuff. Kind of just trying to build something that my kids can inherit.

Would be nice to have a Porsche though. But I'm not doing that until after I buy at least 3-4 more houses.

I noticed this too. Wonder why I stopped giving a frick?

Like I care about my family, my community, and I want my friends to be successful. I'm motivated for all of that. But I don't give two fricks if someone doesn't like me personally - I'm going to go about my life either way.

Most people my age don't have enough time to hate. Me included.

When you fart in public you are treated as though it was something you couldn't help, not a deliberately offensive act. On the other hand, it's more likely to have lumps.

Allegedly, cheaper insurance

Yeah, that's a myth as far as auto while living in N.O.

I'm 72, drive an 05 Silverado, no wrecks, tickets, claims of any sort in all that time and only carrying a pretty high liability policy and it's still stupid high for what I'm carrying on the policy.

The only insurance break I'm getting is through Medicare and People's Health for medical expenses.

Homeowner's is at stupid levels and going up every year

Grandchildren are the best thing about getting old and there's no close second.

ETA: Retirement is the best job you'll ever have. Get up when you want, do what you want, drink at 3 am if you want. No one to report to except the boss wife, if applicable.

More wisdom, life experience, patience and money. That's about all I've got.

For me personally, it's been reminding myself I'm not responsible for someone else's emotional response to having healthy boundaries in my life. I grew up a people pleaser and it's just fricking exhausting. I hit a wall of being tired of not putting myself first.

So maybe less not having the time, but more so just not having the energy.

My Johnston is 1 1/2 inches longer - idk if pulling on it 500,000 times had anything to do with it.

Mine started at 40 when I divorced my miserable ex wife. Life has gotten sweeter than I could have ever imagined.

My dad is 88. He is in no hurry to cash in. Drives and goes out to eat at least once a day if not twice. 30 times a month.
