Venezuelan gangs have taken over apartment complexes and rob the tenants daily. Local government doesn't want to do anything about it.

We love to vacation in Colorado, but hate the prices, politics, the hippies smoking everywhere.

It’s a beautiful state with endless outdoor activities. It’s crowded and expensive.

Terrible political environment

Geographically, most of Colorado is Red. Denver is just so massive. C Springs is still fairly conservative, and has a large evangelical community, if that is your bag.

I love Fort Collins. It is just a big college town. The campus and downtown are very walkable. 1.5 hours from RMNP. 1 hour from Denver so you can make the big events. It is just so damn expensive, at least for housing. Going from Louisiana to CO, many, many things will be much cheaper. My daughter had to go to the emergency room while we were there in July (food poisoning). The bill was less than half of what we would pay in Louisiana.

If you are a dope headed liberal it is great. If you are a normal person not so much.

The Colorado mountains are absolutely the greatest part of America, I grew up in Golden and would love to move back to Colorado but the politics of the state tells me I am not welcome.

Now is Congreswoman Boebert ever decides to return my call and marry me I may go back.

Everything east of the mountains is flat as hell. Denver traffic is horrendous. Wife's friend from school is a cop there and says it smell of weed everywhere.

I personally think Denver is just way too dry. If you pay attention to lifers there, they have bad skin and look older than their years as a result. And it can wreak havoc on the nasal passages of people accustomed to more humidity.

Also, the weather is pretty extreme. I know you know that about the cold, but the heat and wind are pretty crazy also.

this honestly sums it up perfectly. at least it sums up the issue with the beautiful parts with outdoor activities.

you could move to la junta or alamosa, which aren't too expensive or crowded. but those parts of CO sure as hell aren't beautiful

Tell Me Something Bad About Colorado

Pros:
Some gorgeous land
Red Rocks amphitheater
Snow
Recreational cannabis
Outdoor activities

Cons:
Fires
Snakes
Wannabe potheads
Snow
Lack of food identity and culture
Cost of living in the places worth living
Progressive Communists run the state
The entire state government had no problem with literal armed illegal gangs taking over apartment complexes and terrorizing people. They didn’t make a peep about it and defended it as “only a few complexes” when asked.

I’m visiting Denver in June with the family

I actually live in Denver unlike most of the frick heads replying to this thread. Homelessness in Denver proper has gotten much better since our new mayor came into office and most of the homelessness that still exists is concentrated in and around downtown. Cost of living is higher in general. Grocery store situation here kinda sucks NGL. That’s the one thing I miss about Louisiana.

Whatever outdoor thing you like can be itched at an elite level here. Also we get big musical artist that come through red rocks and the other venues we have in Denver every year. Food scene is so so could be better. Night life is great lots of bars/breweries to choose from.

Also DIA is a pretty great airport. Directs to all the big cities and has an expanding international portfolio.

Yeah but you live at like 10,000 ft. Denver winter is not that harsh.

Get ready to worry about the snowpack because if there isn't enough, your water will be rationed.

Denver water supply is more than adequate plus we have the Denver basin which has a few 100 million acre ft in it if things ever actually got that bad

A lot of stupid stuff in this thread.

Legitimate bad stuff: Denver vagrants, Denver/Aurora car thieves, cost of living is high but that’s mostly housing. Other prices are fairly normal and taxes are all fine (property taxes are not high, as a rate, but property values are). The weather here is fantastic EXCEPT for spring/early summer hail.

If you were to move out here, live in Douglas County, as red a place you will find near a major city in this country. Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker.

You won’t have to relearn how to cook, you won’t have to relearn to breathe in Denver, liberal politics in the suburbs are pretty mild (the CO GOP is a joke of an operation, the left would have less of a stranglehold on this state if the GOP were competent at all).

Most of Colorado’s problems can be avoided by staying out of Denver and North Aurora proper.

The bad: It’s expensive AF and you probably couldn’t afford to live in DEN. It’s also full of nearly insufferable woke progressives.
