sometimes it's fun to when they wave

It brings joy to me when I'm in a bad mood

It's something people that own jeeps do to each other to acknowledge the facts that they overpaid for a vehicle that has terrible reliability and isn't designed for use as a daily driver.

Obligatory “it’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.”

Now, the fricking JKU is a soccer mom car
It is, which makes me sad. I have an 07 JKU that is just a Sunday driver now, but it is nothing like the soccer mom jeeps that you see driving around these days. Mine has push in locks, roll down windows, and a manual transmission. None of the fancy electronics the JKU's have these days. We take it up to the camp, and when it's time to clean it you just hose it out. Like a Jeep was meant to be.

Depends where you live. In Denver, I don't get shite, and my ex didn't believe it was actually a thing.

I know I’m setting myself up here to get mercilessly ragged on but I’ll survive.

So, in 2005 I had my DL suspended for a very long time and was expressly told by the judge not to get caught driving on a suspended DL again or there would be dire consequences. I also had to have a job, for obvious reasons. I had a ride to work most days but invariably there were days that my ride couldn’t pick me up.

Quite the dilemma. Uber didn’t exist at that time. I thought long and hard about this dilemma and decided to buy a Yamaha Zuma. A 50 CC scooter thinking that no cop in his right mind would pull over a scooter and it would allow me to get to work on this unfortunate days. I figured if wrecked, I died so the suspended license part wasn’t really a concern. The plan worked. Drove it for a year to get to work and it was actually a lot of fun. I bought aftermarket exhaust and clutch for it and that bad boy would go almost 60 MPH when I leaned frontward to eliminate wind resistance. Sold it for more than I paid to a hot arse sorority girl that I got to teach how to drive it, although I later found out she hit a parked car and broke her leg than sold it.

Point being, the reaction I got from motorcyclist were hilarious. It was like they wanted to wave, but didn’t think a scooter was worthy of their wave, so they almost all did a little half arse recognition but hoped no one a REAL bike saw them.

Me, I didn’t give a rats arse. I drove that thing proudly looking like revenge of the nerds and loved every second of it.

That’s pretty frickin slick

Any group wave or hand gesture is gay in general. Jeep waves, hookem horns, gig’em...... all super gay.

I’ve gotten a new wrangler and have noticed a very high amount of people waving to me as I drive

I think that's the signal when they want to meet you at the next rest stop.

LOL. It’s on blocks in the back of the shop. That’s where it’s been for eight years. Brand new SBC sitting on the frame with the tub. Fenders, grill and hood are in the bed.

2015 JKUS owner here. I wave and don't really pay much attention to see if they wave.

It's been trouble free. Jacked 4" and on 35s. Lots of other stuff. Not a rock crawler but one hell of a trail rig. We've been to Az., N. Mex., Tx., & Ark. trail riding + some muddin in La.
