I can't leave walker at 645 and be to college in 45 mins.

When I commute from Hammond to Baton Rouge, I'm a fire breathing homicidal maniac by the time I roll into BR. If you do your commute for over 1 yr, you'll turn into a psycho.

Plant your corn early. I go from BR to N Shore everyday. I see stupid on the road everyday. It's actually turned me into an angry man :) the fricking douche 18 wheelers out of control. The fast lane is now the drive 55 lane. Texas drivers can suck a big one. Texans drive 55 in the fast lane all day everyday. Rant over

It's people with attitudes like these who cause rear-end accidents.

In other words, you're a big part of the problem.

Why anyone would do this to themselves, I will never understand.

I would just move in that scenario or at least move to Walker to get halfway there.

You are obviously from Tejas and drive an 18 wheeler.

People on here exaggerate the BR traffic problems. I drove Hammond to downtown New Orleans for 2 years and now do Hammond to Washington st BR everyday now. Hammond to New Orleans and back was the worst, it would take me an hour and a half everyday to get home.

But at least you get Houston jobs, three loops around the city, affordable housing , and way more opportunity. That's why I left BR. I said to myself I'm getting Houston style traffic and none of the Houston style benefits

I've driven Hammond to BR every day now for ten years
it takes an hour minimum if I leave by 7am, if it's only backed up to basspro
if it's backed up to juban, abandon hope

in the afternoon it's 45 minutes leaving at 6pm

I used to make it daily, 20 minutes one way.

That was in an airplane.

Are you flying?

Yeah, I'm reading these horror stories of frustration and I'm just sitting back thinking that's a normal day for me. I try to hit the road for 6 to show up at 7 (when I have to head across town) or else I know I'll be in the car forever. Granted a lot of the industry I work in has flexible hours, so I can head out at 3:30 or so most days.

I lived in BR for 6 years and know the traffic headache. It's definitely bad for the size of the city. But, in the grand scheme of things, it's not as bad as gets elsewhere.
