I have 3 pairs. Order them 1/2 smaller than you regularly wear and a size wider. I usually wear a 10 regular. In Tecovas, I wear a 9.5 wide. Sweet boots at a good price point.

Decent boots for the money. I consider them a mid tier company. Decent enough for kicking cow shite. More comfortable than Ariats but not quite as durable in my experience. They don’t belong in the same sentence as Luchesse.

Do you ride fences or sort cattle at a sale barn or feed lot? I know a couple of guys who do and they wear ropers FWIW

I preferred ropers when I was doing the above for a living.

I have a couple pair of Lucchese, and I find Tecovas more comfortable.

Decent handmade boots at a decent price. Well worth it in my opinion. I’ve got three pairs.

Maybe the new ones are. My 8 year old pair of Ariats has outlasted two pairs of Tecovas doing mostly oilfield and ranch work.

I have a few different pairs.

I wear their nice ropers in place of dress shoes to the office.

I think they are by a fantastic bang for your buck boot and would easily recommend them.

It helps to have those heels when riding.

I was speaking in terms of how Tecovas is marketing them and their target demographic for them.

They literally tell their customers that if you've never owned a pair of cowboy boots try the less aggressive heal and shorter shaft of the roper.

I have heard people that love them, and people that didn't like them as much. They seem reasonably priced. But for the price I would get Justins, Ariats, or TL's, but that is just me. Everyone has their preference and I have not owned any Tecova's but they aren't bad looking boots.

I’ve had Justin, Tony Lama’s, and Ariat boots and my Tecovas are my favorite pair. Have owned this pair for about 3 years and have worn through the soles but the leather is great quality and theyre comfortable all day. Best boots for the money that I’ve owned.

I think ropers are targeting folks who don't really wear boots.

I grew up on a farm and have always worn ropers.

And the pair of Ariats I have now lasted a long time and I’m just starting to think about looking to replace them.

I don't know dick about cowboy boots but one of the cobblers I follow on youtube did a video on recrafting a pair of Tecovas and show and discuss how they are made and give their opinion where they sit in the pantheon of cowboy boots.

Trenton and Heath have taught me an incredible amount about dress shoes and where to spend my money. I have used them to recraft a pair of AE and a pair of George Cleverley shoes and their work is as good as the original (which is saying something with the Cleverleys) so I figure their opinion is worth something.

Never had any. Those marketing campaigns always make me leery of a product, and I probably shouldn’t feel that way. I’ve been buying Tony Lamas for years and have always been pleased so it’s hard for me to switch. TLs TLX work boot is by far the most consistently comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.
