I lived there for 8months when I was a kid because my dad took a short job transfer there. We treated it like a long vacation. I think we hit every museum and Indian reservation that was open to the public. We did plenty museums in Los Alamos which is where the atomic bomb was built.
Now as far as adult nightlife I have no clue. I was a kid.

I was there for 1 day in 1999. I remember a big grassy square with a band playing and people everywhere on picnic blankets hanging out. And all the architecture was that classic adobe style. I really enjoyed it but it was a long time ago.

Nice town. Very beautiful. Very liberal and lots of people into the New Age/Mysticism stuff. Lots of good restaurants.

I have been trying to get back so I can go see this. They are opening one in Denver and I think Vegas.

Beautiful part of New Mexico and the state capitol. They get a lot of funding for their infrastructure. 45 minutes to an hour from ABQ.

New Mexico itself is as shitty as they come in many categories. They just voted in a very socialized minded Governor so if you are into that type of politics, this state is for you.

If you have kids then hopefully you can find a private school that is highly rated. Public schooling is failing horribly.

NM is looking at becoming a sanctuary state and is trying to pass several anti-gun measures.

Looking forward to the Denver one eventually opening, since I've got way more reason to be in Denver than Santa Fe.

It's a blast. No one in our group really knew what to expect, other than people said it was really cool. It's like someone took acid and designed one of those big indoor playground things for adults. I'm sure the Denver version will be awesome, and it'll be enhanced with the legal situation in Denver being what it is.

I drove through once. Thought I was in actual Mexico. The parts I saw looked like a third world country. Place looked miserable.

Everything is brown.

If you have allergies they will get better.

It's an ok place to visit but I think it would suck to live there. NM is generally very poor but there are some very wealthy folks in Santa Fe. Of course if you enjoy Indian casinos then it's the place for you.
