Definitely.

Some good bars in Natchez, too.

I think there is a Brennan’s restaurant opening soon by the Eola.

Will definitely give that a try next time I’m in the area and it’s open.

Yeah, thought an earlier post here must have been using “hipster” as a euphemism.

Natchez is great. I wouldn’t want to live there but it’s an excellent town to drink and not care in.

For non participants. If you’re involved, there’s plenty of parties and balls.

Natchez has more drinking and partying than any small town you will ever go to.

Drive 15 minutes over to Ferriday. What a bright spot and economic machine!

I mostly agree...

But even pre-casino Marksville/Mansura was a destination drinking hole.
I've also been to these towns where the only point of going was to drink:
Norwich UK
A-Town Korea
Brandon CN
Worcester MA
Eau Claire AND LaCrosse Wisconsin are definitely places you go to drink exclusively.

Definition of small is relative here as Norwich is 140k people but that ain't shite in the UK...and I'm not sure anyone lived in ATown other than prostitutes...

I went there for a wedding about 10 years ago. We stayed at an old hotel downtown called the Ebola Hotel (or something like that).

The wedding was at an old plantation complete with black servants in white suits.

On the way back to the hotel around 10pm, we took a wrong turn and went through a black neighborhood that was pretty crazy. The old houses were terribly run down and the streets were full of people (hundreds) mulling around drinking and yelling. One guy sat on the hood of our car. It was a pretty intense few blocks.

Natchez is alright. Across the bridge in Ferriday and Vidalia is where the action is at.

It’s always amazed me how little people from South LA know about the rest of the world. I-10 is as far north as their brain can go and it’s flanked to the west by Houston and the east by Destin. They talk about places like Vicksburg and Natchez like they’re on another continent. Hilarious

Natchez is an old south town where people have manners. The restaurants don’t have to have rules about people bringing their fricking dogs inside them. The people know better.

The deck at Fat Mammas would probably be okay.

If you want to see a place that's really isolated, look up Alcorn St Univ on Google maps. It's approximately 25 mi NE of Natchez surrounded by miles of thickly wooded hills. About 5 miles off the river

Took a drive through the campus a couple years ago. It is in the middle of nowhere. They have a little store/gas station on campus. At first I thought it was odd, but then I realized there is no other gas station within a quarter-tank drive from campus.

Isn't that place a predominantly black university?
