There’s a brewery called “High Cotton” there.
Has some nice brews and I love the name.

If you're black and like to do gang shite Memphis is great. If both of those do not apply not so great.

My Uncle and his family and my cousin all live in Germantown and they like it ok. They are all high level pilots, etc for Federal Express, have private planes, county club memberships, plenty of money, etc. Like anywhere if you have plenty of money you can make it work. Federal Express is a great place to work btw.
Do you have school age kids? Are you single? Etc. It’s pretty cheap place to live, good location overall.

It’s sucks, but the suburbs aren’t bad. It gets a lot of flak tbh. Nashville and Chattanooga are just as ghetto and dangerous but hide behind stuff. Only thing that I can’t defend it on is that it is flat and the weather sucks lol.

Maybe it was Memphis
Maybe it was southern summer nights
Maybe it was you, maybe it was me
But it sure felt right

It is really not that bad if you can fight, handle a firearm and know basic first aid.

Great food. No state income tax. Not worth dying over.

Have a job opportunity there, will be in the office downtown. Lower 30s, no kids. Wife works at hospitals so we're good there. Need a yard for my dog.
I have a friend that lives in midtown and loves it. He's a soyboy liberal though. I probably shouldn't like him but we share a love for metal music and generally f'n with each other over political views and my love of the flesh of the tortured animals.

I would not have a problem with East Memphis, Collierville or Mud Island.
Olive Branch is OK but you probably should start living closer to Church Rd .

Memphis is weird and isnt for everybody. I've lived here for 37 years, both in the city its self and the suburbs and it is what it is. I can offer you some advice though if you make the move:
1) I think living areas have already been pretty well laid out. East Memphis, Mud Island if in the city or Collierville or Germantown if suburbs. I live in the East Memphis/Colonial Acres area and its ok. Pretty safe, affordable and good proximity to stores/eateries etc and not terribly far from Midtown and Downtown if you want to do nightlife stuff.
2) the most important piece of information i can give to anybody moving or visiting; you know where you are supposed to be and not supposed to be. It is pretty obvious. Stay where you are supposed to be. If you find yourself in an area where you are not supposed to be; conduct your business, dont act like an arse and gtfo. Follow those simple rules and youll be fine.
3) pack heat and dont be afraid to brandish that thang if needed.

Negative. Cordova sucks. City schools, horrendous traffic. Hard pass.
