Hey Pisces. I am very much in the know about FRA. I am a alumni and have a child that has graduated from FRA. The info that cena69 has so gladly shared in not at all fact. I suggest you call the school and set up a tour and judge for your self. We will be entering our 50th year of operation in the 19-20 school year. If you want a family oriented education experience for your child this is the place to be.

FRA is a good, small school. The local catholic school (CHSPC / CESPC) has more students but just as many, if not more issues. FRA lost a bunch of student to the local stem school but they are hanging in just fine bc the school really is a good place to send your kids. People think just bc enrollment is down, that it will fail. The truth is you could find other schools in the BR area that are smaller and they still have the doors open.
Not trying to shite on CHSPC, but being an outsider won’t help you over there. I have some family members that send kids there. They constantly complain bc the school admin plays favorite$.... different rules for you and the kids depending on who you are even moreso than the average small town, private school. The biggest measurable downside to them imo is that the enrollment is maxed out and the teacher to student ratio is pretty bad compared to other private schools especially FRA.
Disclaimer: I have no data to back me up. Just word of mouth as I do business in the area and have some family living there.

Principal or teacher?
If latter: what subject do you teach?
Eta: from their Wikipedia

That's a long time to keep the "others" out.

I would just move to St. Francisville and use the Audubon Bridge because there is never traffic on it. Send your kids to West Feliciana schools instead.
We have a winner.

You must correctly answer one question to be accepted:
What is the name of this River?
1. True
2. False

FRA is not what it used to be but the small class size is nice. The public stem school is actually outstanding for the area and that's what is killing FRA, and hurting Catholic, and it's only been open 2 years. The principal at stem is leaving to become The principal at Lee magnet in baton rouge, so I'll be curious to see who takes his place. The previous principal at FRA was horrible and there's a new principal starting this year. They also lost a big time high school teacher, Mrs Edith, this year. They won't be able to replace her. The elementary is outstanding. Athletics are a joke. Catholic sucks unless you're willing to write big checks. If you're kid can produce a 2.75 minimum gpa and has no conduct violations, stem is your best option. FRA being 2nd, Catholic 3rd. Stay away from every other public school in Pointe Coupee.

I disagree with writing big checks to be accepted at Catholic. You can pay your child's tuition, keep your head down, and go with the flow and still get a great education and experience.

They are NOT accepting a ton of voucher students. Both CHSPC and FRA have lost students to the new STEM academy. FRA’s classes are small, and this enables the teachers to cover far more ground in academics. The school will be open for next year, and many more years to come. Please call the office and visit the school before you decide where to send your children. Visit all the schools that you are interested in before you make your decision.

FRA has had 2 teachers fired for sexing and almost sexing students in the past 4 years.
Posted on 6/22/18 at 4:27 pm to ThatMakesSense
Yes, and they were fired immediately. Many other schools have fired teachers for this same reason. Many more schools will encounter this problem, and fire the offending teacher as well.

Small class sizes don't mean squat if they don't have good teachers to teach them. I also heard they lost Mrs Mallory to Catholic. She was a great teacher and coach. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't accepting a lot of voucher kids. Hell, they don't even require the FRA logo on the uniforms anymore because some parents bitched about the price of shirts. I also would imagine it would be hard as hell to get kicked out of FRA these days, which leads me to wonder how well the conduct issues are being handled there.

Easy there Tiger. It is serviceable for most. The brightest excel, but they would excel at many public schools too. CHPC and FRA both have good families sending their kids there. If I were to grade the schools on academics, I would give CHPC a C+
FRA a C
The STEM school a C
There is a reason the STEM school is doing "well".
Imho, I would be okay with
my child at any of the three. If you are a good parent with high expectations, all three schools will suffice.

FRA is in decline. It may not be open more than a few more years.
A lot of kids have been switching to Catholic of Pointe Coupee (which is growing and improving) and the new public STEM academy.
