I agree. I deal with erosive inflammatory osteoarthriitis and the pain gets to you. It is relentless. As soon as I I have joint surgery on one area to help with the pain, it pops up in another. I take Celebrex, mild dose of prednisone and Gabapentin daily. It barely helps, but doing without is horrible. Voltaren Gel was prescription until this summer. Sometimes it seems to soothe it a little. Maybe I just want to believe it does. It is available, prescription strength, over the counter now. Try it. At least it makes you think you have some control over it.

I agree with Dinosaur. The Pointe Coupee Parish public school system is notorius for screwing up anything that is of value as soon as it serves their purpose. They once closed down a nationally recognized blue ribbon elementary school as soon as it pulled enough kids out of the CHCPC and FRA. Left the kids scrambling at mid-year with few options as to where to enroll. They will probably do the same at STEM. If it is good, then it will not be there long. Just long enough to pull the other schools down, then close. The PCPSB knows exactly what they are doing. Their motives are always not what they seem to be. There are deep waters and undercurrents that a lot of people don’t realize exist at that school board. They play games and the students suffer. How many people read last week’s front page article in the newspaper where our superintendent said that at the direction of some board members their hiring focus would now be on hiring quantity rather than quality? Here they go again!

They are NOT accepting a ton of voucher students. Both CHSPC and FRA have lost students to the new STEM academy. FRA’s classes are small, and this enables the teachers to cover far more ground in academics. The school will be open for next year, and many more years to come. Please call the office and visit the school before you decide where to send your children. Visit all the schools that you are interested in before you make your decision.
