I’m sure you’ll get a few of the usual suspects naysaying in your replies but I think most would agree that it’s a fricking awesome place to live at any age, especially in your late 20s.

You’ll enjoy the visits and they’ll have a blast. Win-win.

The naysayers are still googling whether the mayor is D or R before they throw in their expert opinions.

It’s expensive man, he needs to be knocking down 90-100 or you will be “supplementing”.

two places on the planet I have been that are just uncomfortably political, Denver and Asheville. That makes sense because 70% of the people in Asheville are from Denver.

Daughter (no pics) is late 20’s and took a job up in Denver two years ago.

Lives in Castle Rock - the “affordable” places around Denver are not where you want to live. Paying about $3k to rent. You’ll need a place with a garage if you have a car. Summers are fun, but short. She doesn’t want to go hiking alone - a lot of freaks on the trails. She isn’t much of a skier - so winters aren’t as much fun as she thought they would be.

She’s looking to move to Florida, if that helps.

That's a terrible commute. Just curious why you need a garage in Castle Rock? Hail?

Even with that amount of income, it's gonna be tough and go if you're single with one income.

It's doable for sure, but you won't have a lot of leftover money.

Real estate is just insane there. Half a million that would buy you a mansion back home is in a questionable at best neighborhood in Denver.

Also I thought the mountains were closer to Denver. Some days you couldn’t even see the Rockies in the distant

Yep. At best, foothills are relatively close.

And if you’re thinking about Aurora or out that way…. Feels like the desert by comparison.

Denver is home for me. Tell that sumbitch to join a drinking sports league. There's a ton of active ones like kickball/softball, or drinking focused ones like beer pong, flip cup, or bowling. Good way to meet people when youre new to town. The thing about denver is no ones actually from here so everyone's kinda searching for people.

There's retard libs in every facet of life so dont let retard conservative posters sully the image of a place just cause they exist. Colorados got plenty of red blooded people in it. Its very safe, and very fun if youre outgoing enough.

Hope the kid gets a place with covered parking cause hail in the summer and snow in the fall/winter sucks. If he's got a rear wheel drive vehicle he might consider something AWD.

That's all I got

It's cold.....which isn't bad overall....but cold weather constantly and being single dont mix. Pasty white covered up girls doesn't make it "fun"

I’ve been in Denver for several years. Glendale is a good central location for a job but won’t be the most fun place to live. There are some baller neighborhoods to the north and west like Hilltop, Country Club, and Wash Park but those aren’t geared towards young singles. My single younger friends that have good jobs live downtown by RINO or Highlands which would be about a 30 minute drive with traffic.

The outdoors is the major attraction obviously. Be sure to manage expectations especially with skiing. If you don’t have a place to stay, day tripping on the weekends will get tiresome. With biking and hiking, there are nice spots close by but to really get out, it’s about a 2hr+ drive from the city.

The music scene is well known but still criminally underrated. So many venues, so many different flavors.

Because of its strategic location of the new world order.

One of my best friends moved there a few years ago. He loved it at first and now he wants to move. He's right wing but not poliboard lunatic right wing and still feels like he's constantly catching hell for it.

Colorado as a whole is great, but Denver itself is overrated. Proximity to the mountains is good. But the city and the immediate burbs are pretty garden variety sprawled out strip mall, identical house and apartment building type areas. There’s a decent amount of stuff to do, but it’s nothing special.

ETA that homelessness is totally out of control in the Denver area. Makes the problem in New Orleans and Baton Rouge look microscopic by comparison.

I have a 30 year old son living downtown. Homelessness is still an issue, but not as rampant as two years ago. Crime is a problem. He’s close to Union Station…after 10 pm, get off the street. Gunshots are a regular occurrence.

Cost of living is high, like any city. These good food, music, sports and other entertainment in abundance.
