They are the smallest generation sandwiched between the boomers and millennials. The ones who raised these dumbasses are probably older generation x.

If the kids doing this are 16 years old, then that would mean their mother could be either a millenial who had the baby at 23 (17 years old born with mom being 22, etc.), or a gen x'er giving birth in her late 20's. The oldest millenials are in their late 30's right now.
