Yeah, someone that is 6'3" 230lb 5% body fat, and out on probation, is not a 16 year old "kid". They used he "non-helmet" law to grab him. He was running for some reason and probably ditched something in the house, that is why they were entering the house at the end of the video.

From what I heard they tried to talk to him and he took off on his bike, that is why he was being detained. If he had drugs or a gun on him then running was a good idea, if not he is retarded. I don't feel bad for him at all.

Does anybody, truly, think the police are riding around suburban white neighborhoods, chasing and writing white kids tickets for not wearing helmets?

Did all of you really miss the person taking the video asking those around him if the 16 year old was out on parole?

There is a reason he asked that question and it wasn't because he was arrested in the past for no helmet while riding a bike.

No one in this thread even needs to say "frick the police" or "the cops were right."

There is simply a video of cops telling a kid to come outside. No one knows exactly why. He could have been caught getting drugs, or maybe the cops were being stupid. Who knows

6 officers for what? For a kid on a bicycle. Why did they arrest him and not just write the ticket and give it to him and move on?

Did you not see the video? He ran from the cops, that's how he ended up in the house. If he stopped, nothing probably would have happened. However the youth chose to escalate the situation by running.

And there were 6 officers there because he ran into a house where there are many unknowns. As you can see, there were several more people there than one "kid" as you claim. There is safety in numbers, it's common sense 101.

so he wasn't arrested, he was ticketed. He was put in cuffs because he ran from the cops. Seemed like he was out on parole based on the police officer's comment about being able to enter the home--not sure if he was talking about the kid or the parent.

Don't agree with the cops wasting time like that, but the cameraman certainly didn't help the son's case or help the situation. Cops have a shitty job. Many of them are dicks, but a lot of them are doing their job--BS minor violations are a way to get people's info and fingerprints in the system and leads to a high number of arrests for more substantial violations.

I got a ticket, and was processed and fingerprinted when I showed up to my court date for driving without a license (left it at home ). Then I showed them my license and the prosecutor tossed my case. Waste of time? Yup. But I certainly didn't compound the situation by avoiding the authorities or acting like a jackass.
