Terrible quality. My Dad bought 2 pairs to try out and the stitching is terrible and he said it was like walking on cement, no cushion at all.

I own 3 pairs of each . Both boots you can’t go wrong . Luchesse will be pricer. You’ll have to get the soles replaced on both brands eventually. As long as you take care of them using boot oil and lotion . Bick 4 , mink oil and saddle soap depending on the leather or skin .

Lucchese
Honest question:
My Luccheses from the 90s and early 2000s are better than the newer ones.
Any reason why or is it just the nature of things?

Haven't read the whole thread but in my opinion Anderson Bean is the way to go.

I have the Jake roper boot in caramel with the vibram soles. It is an all-weather boot, but keeps looking good if you take care of them. Do yourself a favor and buy them tight to break in. I did this with mine. It took about 2 weeks of daily wear to get them to pull on easily, and now they feel like slippers. About once a month, I clean them with warm water, saddle soap, and a brush. After they air dry for a day, I coat them in mink oil then buff them out. They look good as new. The rep at the BR store said they’ll send them off to resole at no charge for a lifetime. The way I see it, I’ll have them for at least 15 years of wear for $265.

Toe shape is just preference. I have pair of round and square and they all kick cow shite or dead coyotes the same.

Idk if that is true. They had a program that was like $150 to send off and refurbish.
