That Mcaffe is more intrusive and annoying than the viruses it protects you from.
This is the only one I know is true.
Mcaffe will lock your PC and not find crap, virus wise.

It's not even an urban legend that Apple could make the screens out of a (practically) unbreakable material but they choose not to. First of all, other companies do and have for a while. Second, Apple has a cash hoard bigger than most countries. It's not like it's impossible or that the R&D is out of their reach.

Verizon slows done your data forcing you to spend more time loading pages, thus using more data.
If you get there faster, your MPG is better!!!

I feel like you might have a hit out on you now.

Nah, tech companies flaunt this stuff. When I went to the Ignite conference (Microsoft) last fall, all they focused on was their big data, machine learning and AI (Cortana).
Google and Apple are already doing shady stuff with their mobile technology and advance it every year. American consumers ignore it and keep upgrading.
Salesforce is bringing its own big data with machine learning features to the masses. This will allow even smaller companies to "know" you.

Phones are designed to break at 2 years.
I've had the same phone going on almost 4 years. Take that Apple!

That cell phone companies end out updates that damage their customers phones after the two year mark.
I think this is just ludicrous.

This was 100% fact...but they have gotten better still wouldn't use or recommend McAffee because of the BS do nothing stance they took for so long when most people considered their software a malware itself.

That companies purposely keep tech lower than it should be so they can roll out new upgrades to grab more users.
This is called smart business. You don't want to give them everything when you have to meet revenue and profit numbers year over year.

That windows updates mess your computer up forcing you to update your OS.
I'd be more interested in specific cases here. As a whole I'd call BS.

I was speaking with my wife about potential vacation spots, and I mentioned Salt Lake City. Without searching for anything, I started seeing ads for SLC tourism in sidebars on several sites.
When I moved back to Louisiana from Germany after my military contract was up, the wife and I stayed with my parents in Slidell for a few weeks before we got settled. I hadn't searched for anything having to do with Slidell and our tickets only mentioned New Orleans.
Sure enough, the day before we left I started seeing ads for hotels in Slidell. Still baffles me.

A tech urban legend is, for example, that when the UFO crashed at Roswell it contained microchips and Internet communication framework and a sort of cell phone device. NASA and the government began a massive research project to reverse engineer what they found and that's how all the slave age breakthroughs in the 50s and 60s came about.
The name of the book is The Day After Roswell. I read it years ago. Don't know how much I believe but it is a fascinating story.

The problem with Gorilla glass is it's high cost and it does break.
I can get most iPhone screens for cheap with digitizer. A few years ago I had the Moto RAZR and it was the first phone with Gorilla Glass. That screen broke twice the first time the cheapest I could buy a screen online was $260. I installed it myself, the second time the phone broke it went in the trash can.

I don't think you understand how effective hackers really are. They barely can stay ahead of data thieves, so the software updates are critical.

I've read about the Samsung smart TVs (I have one) having a hot mic even when turned off. What else is known as fact to the public as far as what we would consider privacy invasion.
