If that's the case, and the people do re-locate, it is still good for Louisiana. That is more money people spend in the city. More homes being rented/bought. Etc.
Its not AS GOOD as hiring locals, but its certainly not a bad thing.

This is not HP. This a former business unit of HP that was spun off and merged with CSC (Computer Science Corp.)
The new entity is called DXC. It is now a ~$25B global IT outsourcing firm.
They provide IT services (help desk/app & software development/ cyber security) to most of the largest companies in the world.

If a tech company is coming to NOLA looking for customer service representatives who are literate, speak the English language well, and know anything about technology, this'll be a short experiment.
Edit: Already a downvote. Do you realize that I'm talking about the city that cut the newspaper down to 3 times a week, and has thrown it into my front yard free for 2 years?

dedicate the city to tourism and be done with it
we waste so much time, money, and resources attempting to attract industry here that we;d be much better off investing into something we know that will pay off.

If that is true they will never hire 2000. Unless 1800 of those positions are entry level hiring that many IT workers won't happen. There just isn't the numbers in state.
