To put it into perspective. LSU alone could probably fill all those positions within a year.
And that's assuming half of these jobs are not just relocations of persons are employed by said company.

Also, IT companies can have very high percentages of full time "remote" workers.
This doesn't mean 2,000 jobs for people living in Louisiana, much less New Orleans.

So most if not all of these job applicants will be brought in from out of state.
