Teachers not rounding final grades at LSU

I ended the semester with a 79.70 C in my class and my teacher refuses to round my grade up to 0.30 points. How should I go about emailing her? Getting a B is critical for my TOPs scholarship.

Honestly it sucks, but she probably told yall she didn't round. You didn't earn a B.

A lot don't. 89.9 is a B.. 79.9 is a C.. etc. Your only chance is if you went to every class and went to office hours frequently. But since you're about to lose tops I'm guessing you went to class a few times a month.

How about earning it

Tell the teacher if he/she doesn't round up, you'll publicly claim mental rape and cultural oppression.

Sounds like you're fricked.
Your only hope is to find some mis-graded on the final and contest that for .3 more but you run the risk of losing other points.
Sounds like you don't have anything to lose so try it.
I had to go to school an extra year behind a half of a point.

The fact that you're asking this board and not going and reading the syllabus and exhausting all other options tells me all I need to know.
Good luck but you're screwed.

Go to her office and bitch and moan until she either rounds or calls LSUPD.

You could have made an 80.0 but you didn't. Does the syllabus state that a 79.70 is a "B"?
Didn't think so you lazy, frick. You're entitled to the grade you earn.

If she is Asian tell her your dad owns a couple dealerships. If she bumpz your grade up, your dad will give her a sweet deal on an Audi she will total in a year.

What did their syllabus say for what constitutes a C and a B?

Claim affirmative action...

I am one of those "horrible professors". The reason many of us don't round up is because we indicate in the syllabus what the threshold for a grade is. If you miss it by a lot or by a little, you still miss it.
It much like being told that the train leaves at 3:00 pm and you show up at 3:01. The train has already left.
You can ask, but I will also tell you that pleading a little too hard is a major turn off for us, and at some point it becomes an irritant.
Your best bet is to learn the lesson and strive to do better in the future.

An 89.9 B is a load of crap.
I don't have a problem with instructors not rounding an 89.4 to an A for a student who asks but the ones who make .9s not round up their official syllabus policy are the worst.

As an adult she's not going to round up your grade if you email her.
Walk into her office and if you've gone to class, did the assignments, and actual tried in her eyes she may round it.
At the end of the day it's on you brother ;)
