The kid is non-aggressive and standing there with his hands down. If the teacher was a man then the least he could have done is square up with the kid. Instead he just sucker punches him like a pussy and still can't knock the kid out.

That kid was daring the teacher to stop him from running his mouth. Teacher called his bluff.

If the kid is non agressive why is squaring up the teacher while everyone else is sitting in a desk? Why was it filmed before they started fighting?

The kid went up there to make smart remarks and antagonize, at worst. His friends filmed it to put up clips on Twitter or Instagram of him being smart, but got more than he bargained for.

I'm not gonna say I applaud a man for fighting a child, but the less we support teachers in disciplining unruly students the more crap is gonna happen. And when it does, most people won't fight back like this teacher did. Heck, most will be women. And most will be forbidden to carry.

I would opine that the reason these schools are in such bad shape is because teachers are not allowed to put their hands on students.

There might not be a graduate in that entire class.

I’ve been teaching for a looong time, and I can tell you that teachers carrying is a terrible idea.

As big as that teacher was compared to him he could have just wrapped little arse up, picked him up and placed his arse outside. Sucker punching the kid was bitch move. I can see defending yourself if the kid starts throwing punches but teacher was more out of line than the student in this case.

I think it has more to deal with nobody at the home willing to lay a had on their child than teachers personally.

My wife teaches. She's 5'3 on a good day, and the off 7th or 8th grade male could probably overpower her in a bad situation. The average high school male probably could to, and it will only get worse as she gets older. She wishes she could carry.

I think everyone carrying just because is a bad situation, but if a teacher has a desire to go protect themselves they should be able to. You don't need a gun in every house to protect a population, just enough to make people think it's not worth the risk.

You don't know what a sucker punch is...sucker. It definitely doesn't happen when you are face to face with the person.

The scenarios with this going horribly wrong greatly outnumber any positive outcomes.

Don't challenge the teachers like that and you won't get hit. It's pretty simple. I don't care if he didn't adhere to Queensberry rules.

That has everything to do with it. They need to know boundaries. A punch in the face by an authority figure is a good way to learn.

LINK

quote:

Woodham then drove his mother's Toyota Tercel to Pearl High School. Wearing a trench coat to conceal the rifle he was carrying, Woodham entered the school and fatally shot Lydia Kaye Dew and Christina Menefee, his former girlfriend, then went on to wound seven others.[1][2][3][4][5]

The school's assistant principal, Joel Myrick, retrieved a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol from his truck and, spotting Woodham attempting to flee the parking lot after the shooting, shouted for him to stop. Realizing what Woodham was doing, another student used his own vehicle to block Woodham's path, at which point Woodham attempted to get around the obstruction by driving his mother's car onto a grass verge, only to end up getting stuck in the grass. Seizing his opportunity, Myrick ordered Woodham out of the car at gunpoint and detained him until police arrived at the scene.[1]

If that assistant principal carried instead of leaving his gun in his truck two people would be alive right now.

There are horrible situations that could happen. "What if a student takes a gun from a teacher and has access to a firearm and twenty targets in a room?"

But the truth is that same situation could happen at any restaurant, any street, any theatre in America. But more often than not it doesn't. And quite frankly, after Broward, I trust teachers to defend themselves more than I trust police to save them.

Best way to handle this situation is tell the little shite "if you think you're a bad arse, take the first swing."

If they swing first, it's game on

Simply leaving the class getting security and having the police called to arrest tge kid for criminal threats.

The kids in the class would be taught that in a civilized world, the civio don't regress into savages, the savages are removed. Animals need cages, if you act like an animal you go back to your cage.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way in American public education. If they are removed at all, they’re back before you know it, usually gloating.

Riiiight. If kids are misbehaving let's just give teachers the right to go around sucker-punching them.
