Something I've discovered over the years - everybody wants to tell everyone everything, all the time.

If you're looking for information, all you have to do is facilitate that and learn how to separate the truth from exaggerations and lies.

Could have been kids who started what they thought was an innocent campfire. I know we did that in the woods behind my house all the time when I was a kid. It's a horrible thing, for sure. But it may be that there was no intent of "arson" at all.

I have driven drunk home with no malice. Would it make a shite if I killed 14 people and destroyed shot loads of businesses along the way?

thought that in the giant stickied thread someone said the authorities thought someone filled tires with diesel and pushed them down the mountain. Was that bullshite or a different fire?

That's what I remember. I'm imagining these folks are 15-17 age

It seems like deliberate forest fires would be a weapon that terrorists would use more often. They had wildfires recently, maybe in Israel, that were deliberately set by terrorists. A coordinated effort on our west coast could wreak havoc.

That's a bit harsh. It's an unfortunate situation, but it's just as likely that kids were being kids when the fire started as it is that they went out into the woods with the intention of burning the woods to the ground. We started fires all the time in the woods as kids.

Harsh? My arse. If those little frickers started a fire that killed anyone in my family, I'd want to beat the living hell out of them.

This is no different than throwing big rocks off highway overpasses that ultimately may kill a driver.

This is no different than the drunk driver "just driving a few blocks back home" that kills innocent people.

This is no different than years ago when some kids stole a stop sign, and not long after that a car drives through the intersection and ultimately someone innocent was killed.

Even small kids know what is wrong and sometimes a wrong is especially a wrong for it can have such catastrophic results, such as this.
