When i took a taxi from the airport to my grams house (years ago) about 2-3 miles away, I was charged over $30 and was told that was the airport fee. is this true?

The airport we are staying at does not offer shuttle service to the airport. Would it be cheaper to hope onto a shuttle to a hotel (that is not out hotel) and then call a cab from there?

And suggestions?

Pretty sure the airport fee is only when you leave, not when you go to the airport

Paid $45 for three people from airport to FQ this weekend. Will definitely opt for Uber next time.

There's a flat rate from MSY to anywhere in the city, big you're going to Kenner or Metairie, you can request a "short" cab. It's something like $22 to Clearview, $24 to Causeway.

The fee is both ways unless youre staying in Metairie or Kenner then they will just run the meter.

There is a $33 flat fee for Ubers as well, as long as you are in Orleans Parish

So what you're saying is that Uber's product is the preferable one at their regular price and would have to increase at least 50% to even make people consider getting in a cab.

Got it.

EDIT: Or did I misunderstand and you meant it would have to be 150% above normal pricing?
