Why don’t you give an example of a similar activity/achievement you have that’s more impressive?
I once paddled a pirogue so fast I ran over a goose.

Lets put all the feel good feelings BS to paper.
3000 miles
The North Equatorial current travels at 2.3 mph.
46 days.
That’s 2540 miles in 46 days.
That leaves 460 miles to actually row in 46 days.
That’s 10 miles a day.
Row 10 hours a day that’s 1 mph rowing speed.
A recreational long distance row boat is driven around 3.5 mph. That’s about walking speed. Let’s be generous and round it down to 3 mph.
She needs to row 1 mph 10 hours a day for 46 days.
The average is 3 mph for recreational long distance.
She has to row 1/3 the speed.
Again, not a big deal but she is a woman so I guess it’s a feel good story the pedestrian masses eat up.
And she’s not really isolated. Talks daily to parents and really in no danger.
And her hands? Those callouses are not bad and proves my point. Wasn’t exactly pushing human endurance.

Meh.
Steve Callahan is the GOAT of survival, as he was lost at sea for 76 days and drifted from Africa to the Caribbean in a 6 foot life raft.

Paddling is child’s play compared to what he went thru

If we lived in a culture that did not sensationalize everything this may actually be a cool thing to celebrate.

Yes this is the optimum time of year to go east to west across the Atlantic. There's a sailing group that does the Canary Islands to USA every year about this time, sometimes 1000 boats, and they go because of favorable trade winds. It would be almost impossible if she didn't have the right winds.
