The comments on Takeisha Saunder's facebook page are pretty entertaining.

most don't seem to have a problem with the card.

It's not racist if it's true, right? But seriously, it'd be hilarious if they had a card next to that one saying something along the lines of, "Honey, it's time to take out the (white) trash." That would make it OK.

Black people are really big into hashtags for some reason.

would a baby daddy card featuring a White,Hispanic or Asian couple be ok?
according to the info in the OP, her complaint was not that it was a black couple; her stated complaint was that it was the only card featuring a black couple.

Yet a card reading "Happy Birthday Dad, you one bad mutha fricker" would have been totally acceptable.

That’s one of my sales accounts.

I’ve seen like one black person in that store other than employees.

Well what?

Some single fathers stick around and they don’t want to be called ‘Baby Daddy’ because the term suggests that said father is a deabeat when he is not.

I wonder if she was this upset when B-Rock and the Biz released that song.

wow I find this card extremely offensive.

Most baby daddies don't have relationships with their children. Who the hell would purchase and send them a Father's day card?

Seems to me Target was being tolerant and embracing the culcha. So that's offensive now?

I'm pretty sure that a different card could be selected for them. That's why there are multiple cards for sale.

To be fair, the inside of the card makes it clear it's for a husband.

So target was still aiming small.

I mean... it’s not white and Asian people who use the term “baby daddy”.

Not necessarily true. I was doing psych evals for a case in West Virginia once when some white lady described her relationship to someone as "My baby daddy's other baby's momma."

They probably didn’t even have anything to do with it. Card companies have sales reps in there bringing the cards in. The store probably only knew it was Father’s Day time so they let the rep bring in a bunch of cards.

Baby daddy is a term used by trash people of any race. Usually uneducated types.

Just because black people tend to fill those roles more doesn’t make this a racist thing.

One of the comments that actually makes sense. Lol at the boots as somebody said earlier. And it may just be me, but the dude looks like he could be white or Hispanic. Woman is def black though.

I think target is just adjusting w the times and thinking that more black ppl want to see things that represents how they view the world... because let’s be real... WE CALL ALOT OF our BLACK fathers/ MEN “BABY daddy” ... I’ll be the first black woman to take accountability.... I’m cracking up at this! Lmfao I believe it’s daring on targets behalf..but you gotta give them credit for trying the view the world with us...But dead at homegirls boots.
