Which is why they are marketing to men
This. The whole point of marketing is to reach out to people that don't know about you. I agree most men don't like the American made BS drinks likes Mike's, but I have seen a decent amount of men drink them. Its guys I wouldn't associate with, the kind that live with their parents until they are 35 or otherwise were never introduced to beer like most people.
I also agree, that a good cider is dang tasty. Anywhere they grow apples has all kinds of great ciders. Now I really don't drink multiple at once, but I'll have one or two.

For example
Mikes Hard Lemonade are hell bent on marketing that to men.
Do yall know any mem that drink this?
I've actually thought about this before myself.
I think they may actually be targeting women in a very clever way. If they made the commercials all girly and sweet it might make them feel even more like they're drinking a bitch drink. If the commercials make it look manly they might feel like guys would judge them less for drinking it.
IDK it's very odd. Maybe they are trying to hit their untapped audience, but I don't think any kind of marketing will get men drinking those things.

My wife drinks Angry Orchard and keeps it stocked in the beer fridge. When it's hot, and I just came in from doing yard work etc., I can pound 2 of those 6% mofos before I even get in the shower, then switch to beer after. In the summer, it's too damn hot for whiskey and Bud heavy. I would much rather put some ice and a few Limearitas in my RTIC cup when I'm sitting by the pool. It's more refreshing in the heat, and it you don't like it, kiss my arse.

I've only had it once, and I wasn't impressed. I'll drink a hard cider though. Ironically I'm into sour beer so I'm not quite sure it's super different from your two choices.

I took a business trip with a few of my coworkers recently. Everyone ordered beer except this one guy that ordered an Apple Ale. I tried not to be judgmental but in my mind I thought the dude was a little b!tch. He proved me right the rest of the trip.
Those drinks are WAY too sugary for my taste. They're a good gateway drink to beer though. I drank Mike's before I liked beer.

The mike's harder is easy to chug and is around 1.50 for a 24 ounce. It's 8% abv so it's a good one before going out
You're pretty trashy judging by post history, so this makes sense.
I routinely see redneck construction workers buying these in 24 oz cans in gas stations after their shifts.

A Mike Harder Cranberry Lemonade over crushed ice after a hot day on the golf course is proof of Gods love

sometimes I want a quick buzz and I'm not going to chug a double IPA that I spent 15 bucks for 4 on.

Hard cider is the shite.
Yes, let’s not confuse quality hard cider with garbage like Mikes Hard lemonade or other similar beverage. I routinely brew batches of both beer and cider. Also have one of each in the kegerator the cider is pretty dry, has an apple pecan flavor and is delicious

I love dry hard cider. I don't backsweeten mine. I'm brewing one of those brut IPAs this monday....they are super dry as well.

I've made dozens of batches and have never backsweetened one.

Mike's hard lemonade is getting shite on but have you ever made skeeter pee? It's 12% abv lemon aid. really easy to make. I always bring a keg of it or lime wine for beach trips

I stopped judging people on what they drink. It’s very liberating.

I don’t use much at all. My usual recipe I use about 3-6 oz of maple syrup (real syrup) per 5 gallon batch. Add right before I keg it. It’s a crowd pleaser for sure

It is funny what American men are afraid to drink
In Ireland, likely the most iconic drinking country with men who drink stouts, also love to drink Ciders on warmer days

Ciders, fruit beers, and hard lemonade are all decent options for a “change-of-pace” when day-drinking on a hot day. Plus, Mike’s has a pretty good ABV for its price point. No shame in drinking that stuff every now and then.
