I have family that still lives on North Thibodaux Road in Ponchatoula. They did not flood in March, but water was high enough that they could launch boats from their driveway.

Today, their houses were flooded. Water approached east from the Tangipahoa River similar as it did in April 1983.

I live in whitmar, on amar/white dr. I just left from my house. The water had gone down earlier but it just started rising again for some reason. The creeks that run behind the subdivisions must be cresting.

At 8:30 water had got as far as Holland Rd. Thibodaux and Brown Rd are under. It's going to be close but based on the flood stages I think this beats the 83 flood.

I am currently at Southeastern and no water around here but last night University Ave. had some near the University Center. It was definitely worse in this area in March but other parts of the parish that didn't get hit in March are getting swamped this time.

As of 4pm today, Hwy 22 near pumpkin Center/ Adams Rd. and the Macedonia Area were starting to get water.

ok thanks I used to live on Silman near North Oak St. The Ponchatoula Creek would always suddenly "surge" especially if there was a major rain event upstream. I remember when Andrew in 1992 had the surge pushed up in the lake which pushed it into the Tangipahoa, which prevented the creek from dumping out..thus went into our yards.

I can't help, but if you post on the outdoor board someone may be able to help your parents.

I know West is really bad approaching pumpkin center road. Springfield is literally underwater, my home currently has 3ft of water. We had none before 7pm or so.

Sorry to hear about your home.

We left this afternoon when we saw how quickly it was moving east down 22 from Springfield/PC. I'm wondering how close it is getting to my neighborhood and house.
