if Nick lets them take the money and run without atleast tearing it down....he should be strung up.
i dont care either way, think it becoming the casino makes most sense, but it cant remain empty like it is more than another 6-9 months. something has to happen.

interesting, we have an office there.

yeah I mean if it's torn down, it's still a nice spot on the water. And there is the parking garage. The space has potential as long as the tower isn't there.

The new owners of the Pile of Debris casino license should relocate to the building and repurpose it for their hotel.
This might be the best solution

The issue is that they are an insurance company and that’s what they specialize in, collecting money and you/we fight them tooth and nail to get them to pay out money owed.

it is. Already got a parking garage. Can easily turn the 1st 3 floors into casino. even have a huge poker room on 4th. turn top floor into bad arse bar. turn some of the other floors into restruants, rest hotel.
also have plenty of room to the north, both the parking lot and across the street to build bad arse pool area.
this is by far the best solution and would honetly help revitalize downtown even more.
could easily hold boxing matches and other events across the street at the civic center too.

yea it 100% has to be repurposed or has to be torn down. CAN NOT STAY!!
I think Nic knows that though from his wording.

My office was on the tenth floor overlooking the lake. I loved working there.

I was in it shortly after H. Laura. I had to sign waivers at the time because the building owner had engineers tell us that the building was structurally compromised an likely not salvageable.

Agreed. If it’s torn down, I think there’s a really good opportunity to add to the lakefront as well. Count the new apartments that were just built right there, that whole area has a chance to be really nice if it’s done correctly.
I’m bummed that the food market they wanted to build on the north side of the interstate never came to fruition.

Moving the TD World Headquarters there would be a massive vote of confidence in Lake Chuck.

Not sure that’s the right term in this case…maybe Lake Charles waterfront?

All of those plants across the river making boat loads of money could kick back…

"If" being the keyword.
The potential is there no doubt. I don't have much faith in the execution though.
I hope I'm wrong.

I was surprised when I came into town the other day that it still had so many windows not replaced.

Nic Hunter comes off like he actually cares about LC and not some politician. That guy has done so much, from what I can see, for LC…more than anyone I can ever remember.

I don't question his resolve. It is just a massive project no matter if final decision is to tear down, rebuild, or sell.
I don't think it has has enough of a footprint to hold something to the scale of GN or LDL though. I suppose there are possibilities other than another casino.
As much as people like to have a good time and all the events we have in the area, the Civic Center all the way around to the boat rental could be a hell of an area. (We really do not need a beach.)
