Does the dream job have more room for growth or are you capped out?
Room for growth. Just a bit slower than I would like. A bit slower than industry standard.

What if it’s a 200K pay cut?

Uhh 300k per year for your "dream" job? I'm taking that every day.

Who would ever have to take a 40% paycut for a dream Job under the best economy in the history of these United States?

In the end it’s all about family. I say this as a man who has traveled and separated from mine in the same ways you have and we have talked about it. To me nothing else matters anymore.

Don’t let money cloud your brain and listen to your gut on this one, marine.

Good night, Chesty, wherever you are

I’ve done it. Not a dream job but cake job close to my house with lots of other side benefits. Only reason I did it is because I don’t have to worry about savings or anything like that. Think long term on where you need to go. Work stress free life is nice

You don't know what his dream job is. Not all jobs pay the same. Keep up with your TDS level 57 sky scream though

I will be doing this soon.
Going from a cozy office job to 6 months of intense training to become a pilot.
Paging 777Tiger. Can you confirm I’m not crazy and now is the best time in decades to become an airline pilot?

Bruh you're all over the place.

That's a 60% paycut.

A 40% paycut from 650 is still 390k/year.

Would be home with family more. Currently spend about 6 months per year overseas. New job would still have me gone just as much but in two week blocks as opposed to 2 month blocks.
No way I would working a job where I was out of the country for 6 months a year so it would be an easy decision for me, assuming you have kids.

Someone who doesn't want to spend half a year overseas, and found a job stateside he likes better.

If Jody would start helping pay some bills it would make this decision a lot easier.

There isn’t any “job” I can think of that I’d like so much I’d take a 40% pay Cut to do.
