It’s certainly that. Probably some challenging flying. I interview on Monday. Think I have a good shot as long as I don’t bomb the interview. I’ve met some of their guys over in Africa. I think they have 7 herks now and the fleet is expanding.

Dream job is awesome, but that large of a paycut would extend my retirement age.
I plan to retire in 5 years. That payout would extend me to 7, not counting my pension percentage.

meh, not if he's enjoying it, I could have left a long time ago, I'll have to go in a few years because of mandatory retirement age

You gotta give us some money numbers man. 40% for someone making $80k is not the same as 40% for someone making $200k. Plus your wife’s income
But if I could live on say $100k on your current job or $60k on your dream job, I’d probably do it, assuming your wife makes $30k or more. Will you live more frugally? Yes definitely. Can you still have a good living? Absolutely. Will you be much happier with your wife and kids? Yes definitely

Definitely do it. I did it and had no issues only making $6,000,000 a year.
