We have things in the works. Just seeing if anyone else has had a similar experience and seeking advice on how theirs played out.

“Hey stepdad, I tried to work with TAF but they said I had to get an attorney involved. If that happens you’re likely getting investigated for fraud. Can you give my dad back his tickets?”

Is your mom in on this scam? Pretty trashy if so.

This sounds completely made up. Also, there is a difference between TAF and the ticket office.

Stepdad and dad have the same first and last name?

Post the section, row, and seat number here and maybe there will be some old fashioned street justice.

Just be sure to update us if your dad gets the tickets back…

Go to the ticket office, say they were lost, get them to reprint which will void the originals. Then go beat the shite out of your step dad

Sounds like fraud. Are you scared to get police involved?

Somehow, my stepdad used the name overlap to trick the ticket office into releasing my dad’s account/tickets to him.
If you have any sisters, sounds like ol’ stepdad might be trying to trick them out of their drawers.

It makes a plausible movie premise anyway.

If they had checked the account details — address, phone number, even the stored credit card — it was obviously my dad’s, not his.

But instead, they handed everything over
, and now my dad has lost the seats he’s paid into for decades.

This story sounds like total BS and I don’t believe any of it. You have not given a single shread of evidence to how this would/did/can happen.

Based on only his first name? Didn’t happen. What is a name “overlap”? Absolutely did not happen.

Explain what you supposedly mean with this sentence. What do you mean?

How did your stepdad receive the tickets…email, mailed or picked up? Don’t use maybes or tricks or whatever you’re about to make up. How did your stepdad obtain the tickets?

Everything was done electronically so they have the tickets electronically

Seeking advice as I have heard through the grapevine this is more common than you think

**edits for specifics** My mom remarried years ago, and my dad and my stepdad have the same first name.

Its common for a woman to remarry someone who has the same name as her last husband?

It’s a common name, who would’ve thought it would lead to this

Unfortunately, they are terrible and are taking full advantage of this mistake & even has something to do with tricking LSU to make this happen

Try it this way.

"Mom, you won't see your grandkids again until your shitbag husband returns the tickets."

LSU let the stepdad pay for them even though they were ALREADY PAID FOR ??

So are you saying LSU took money twice.

A. That's felony theft on your step-fathers part.
B. That sounds like fraud on LSU's part.

Call LSU Police, file a complaint, get a lawyer.
