not even the 2.8L duramax? they are claiming 400 lb ft of torque at 2k rpms. that sounds like a good combo

What's the max towing capacity with the 4x4 four-cylinder with the towing package? Gotta be more than 3500?

Maximum trailering rating of 7,700 pounds (3,492 kg) for 2WD models and 7,600 pounds (3,447 kg) for 4WD
Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings of 6,000 pounds (2,721 kg) for 2WD and 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg) for 4WD

why 100 pounds less for 4wd?

Do you want a plain Jane workhorse, or a POS with bells and whistles?

I am 6 months in to my Canyon All Terrain. I have been very happy so far. On the highway I get 23-24, around town is around 18.

The interior is way more hospitable than the Tacoma imo, especially the rear seat. The Tacoma rear seat has less leg room, no arm rest, and no charging outlets. Another thing is that you can't adjust the height of the seats in the Tacoma. They were way too low to the ground for my comfort.

The Canyon/Colorado also has a larger bed and can tow more.

Only time will tell if it has the longevity of a Tacoma, but for initial quality and features there is really no comparison between the two trucks.

Also, I would do the Canyon over the Colorado. Some of the interior touches are nicer and worth the extra cost.

I have a '16 Taco V6, 4x4 double cab. I get 22-23 commuting everyday.
Make sure all of the transmission TSB's are done. Have them manually check the trans fluid as well.
I drove the Canyon when I was shopping, and I could feel every bump in on the road in the steering wheel.

yes. I briefly considered the diesel, but the cost/reward just doesn't make sense to me.

maybe it would, but the extra initial cost, increased maintenance costs, and increased fuel costs aren't worth it imo

What about a certified used 2015 Tacoma Prerunner, double cab, V6, with 32k miles, for $28,000?

Is that a better option than these two trucks?

All help is appreciated.
