I keep seeing commercials for T-Mobile Cell service on TV. Has anyone used T-Mobile and what are your thoughts? I'm in the Mecca, so I am curious about the coverage. Of course, their map shows great coverage, but who isn't going to say that?

I had AT&T for 10 years, switched to t-mobile a little over a year ago and haven't noticed a difference in coverage. I live in the Atlanta area though, haven't tested it much in rural areas.

It sucks outside of major cities.

I switched from ATT a few months ago and will be switching back. It is completely useless on road trips. If you do nothing but stay in a big city, it's OK. But that's highly unlikely.

pretty sure its just as good as the other major cell providers in urban areas but you see quite a difference when you get into rural areas.

it'll be interesting to see their coverage mapbif they merge with Sprint, which suffers the same problem.

Will 2 shitty rural networks combine into one decent one? We will see.

All I know is I won't be sticking around to find out. I couldn't even make an emergency call in some areas. Saving a few bucks a month isn't worth that.

700Mhz is fixing that.

I've been on the same plan with Sprint for like 10 years with unlimited data. The network has always been good enough for my use. I'm hoping the merge will only help the map.

But TMobile will be the namesake company... I want to lock down my contract or another 2 years before any of the merge shenanigans makes me change my plan.

The only good thing about TMobile is this:

T-Mobile is GREAT in DFW. It's pretty much known to be really good in big cities, but if you're traveling, it'll be unreliable once you hit them outskirts.

In metro areas the service is fantastic. Once you get more rural, coverage drops precipitously. Getting very local, the service sucked arse at my daughter's (no pictures) LSU dorm and parts of campus. Was virtually useless and not sure why.

Just switched to T-Mobile after 14 years with Sprint. Saving almost $300 a month for 6 lines, so it was too good to pass up. Coverage has been just fine in New Orlean area. Just spent some time up in Toledo Bend and coverage was ok, but it was no worse than Verizon's that the in-laws had. Soon they'll be on Sprint's towers anyway

Tmobile is better than ATT/Verizon in big cities or at sporting events/concerts etc I assume because less people are on the network, but outside of that it's bad. Sprint may help them out with that

I switched from AT&T to Tmobile because my work is now paying for my phone.

Tmobile fricking sucks. Constant dropped calls, dead zones. I never dealt with this the years I was with AT&T.

For example, I was working at a job site in Hammond, and I had zero reception. I had work to do, so my boss had to let me borrow his AT&T tablet to use as a hotspot so that my TMobile phone would be able to make wifi calls.

Birmingham. Switched from ATT. Half the cost; same coverage.

It’s 2018 and we still have this issue. With all the technology out there you’d think we would be better off.

I just switched to TMobile. I've only ever had att and Verizon before. I haven't been out of the city much but I haven't noticed any difference in coverage yet
