Even with the data frick up no articles ever said Sweden projected to reach herd immunity they said the city of Stockholm.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to judge until we have the benefit of hindsight. Noone here is prescient every one is just going on gut and or politics and both sides will claim their way would have worked best even with the benefit of hindsight.

I am comfortable with the phased reopening plan which gives time for states/areas to react if things don't go as planned.

Sweden has a super high death rate compare to countries with comparable infections. Is that part of the plan? Get the dying over with? Serious question, I just don’t really know much about the Sweden plan.

So Covid is more deadly there for some reason?

Or are you saying there is a higher number per overall population?

The death to infection ratio is higher in Sweden.

Ireland infected: 16,671 dead: 769
Sweden infected: 16,004 dead: 1,937
Austria infected: 14,925 dead: 510

I don't think they are that concerned with testing.

Different population dynamic than the US and much smaller country.

And they approached the virus completely differently than everyone else so it could be that.

This is great for Sweden but doing this with a population of 350 million people is a little different. Also a fat and un healthy country like ours.

Infection rates are nonsense because it only considers those that 1) have symptoms and 2) get tested.

I'm very skeptical they've reached the threshold to reach herd immunity. Depending on the Ro of the disease (which I've seen varying figures for between 2 and 4), it would take between 50-70% of the country to have been exposed to the virus for them to reach herd immunity, and there would have to be no other methods of transmission other than through respiratory droplets (as in there cannot be an environmental component of transmission). The process of herd immunity, if it is even possible for this virus, is going to take time.

Holy shite, you think only 16k have this in Sweden?

You believe Sweden was able to test every single person who had it?

Your stance is that only 16k of people on Sweden have this virus. That means somehow you think they have testsd everyone else in Sweden.
